    I play and almost every Saturday morning the 1st hole on a course I play near a ski mountain has this fog...definitely makes you keep your head down!

    Yup. I've discovered for myself that a lens scope doesn't work in the fog. We were on a course already when the fog moved in on us. Luckily we knew the course somewhat.

    We have a thing here in San Diego we call "May Grey" and "June Gloom". Morning fog can get pretty thick although most afternoons turn out beautiful. The GPS becomes a little more handy than the rangefinder on those mornings. The real trick is finding the ball after you hit it. Not complaining, I'll take golf anyway I can get it these days. Hit'm straight and stay safe.

    Happens from time to time at Torrey Pines. Ive teed off with blue skies and five minutes later in the fairway its pea soup, thats when course knowledge kicks in. Oh, a laser (Leupold) with the ability to cut through the fog is advantageous!

    Wow, I didn't know that about Leupold- that is a great feature! Good to know.

    When I played at TPC Harding Park last April, it was like that for most of the round. I was thankful for being able to purchase a yardage book and had a local in my group, so that helped quite a bit.

    Many mornings here at the Jersey Shore Alex. When you stand on the 1st tee, you can see the Great Bay and Long Beach Island. Some days in the morning, some days it rolls in late afternoon. Some days it's like that all day. Makes a round quite interesting.

    Yes but not like that! You could cut that fog with a knife. I’d be worried the group behind me couldn’t see me and if they’re playing quick could hit into me and my group.

    I can't recall ever playing in such conditions but is there a certain color ball that is more visible in such fog?

    I have a box of the yellow ProV1x that I bought to take with me last December at Bandon. Really did help me on the one misty, foggy morning. Still like white most of the time but sold on the yellow when limited visibility is an issue.
