    Good evening all,

I sent a putter back to Scotty Cameron a few years ago to have them customize my putter. I really love the Cash is King headcover that came with it, but the Velcro is past it’s prime. So much so that if I do not secure it carefully, it falls off. The cover is in excellent shape otherwise. My question is, can you somehow attach magnets to the cover? Has anybody done this? I am not very crafty by the way...

    Thanks,

Ive had a few sewn by a shoe cobbler, works well! I dont know why Scotty won't do magnets for the masses, he's done a few custom versions!

I agree with Todd. I have a Congressional US Open headcover and the velco wore over time. I went to a shoe cobbler and they put in two magnets (purchased from Home Depot) the same day and it works perfectly now.
On the other plus of no velcro, I have a black California Del Mar and the magnets don't scratch the putter like the velcro does. Since then, I have had all my headcovers redone with magnets.
  4. YouTube it...a couple of really simple ways to do it...but say goodbye to the resell value
  5. I tried putting The diy magnets in between a strip of Velcro on each side (plenty of how to’s online). Did not work for me. The magnets stayed in place but they lost all their strength behind the Velcro. They were neodymium and were super strong before the Velcro. Trip to a cobbler or a seamstress next.

    Glad you mentioned it.

    Went in the other direction...
Got fitted for a Special Select Flowback 5.5 (more toe hang required) but the head cover is bright, bold, luminous red. It's fabulous... but it does rather stand out. Too much, in fact... So I've bought a plain black, generic cover and packed the red one (carefully) away in a box.

I might have to try this, I swapped my studio design one out for a generic as mine fell off at Dornoch and I almost lost it (I realized while on the fairway so had a leisurely jog back to the tee to look for it). I don't trust it as it just becomes loose as the Velcro has worn out and doesn't stick very securely.

I believe that Scotty is the last of the velcro headcovers.
  10. I’ve heard of using felt and hot glue gun with magnets but with the cost of these covers invest in a dry cleaner who sews to do the job.

Thanks all for your responses, I am going to have my seamstress take care of it!
