Just wondering what everyones routine was a week before you play in a tournament?Entering an amateur tourney in Hawaii and just wanted to get some input. My thoughts were to not play any golf but just hit the range(chipping, putting, etc.)for the week.Any info or thoughts would be great.

I tend to play more because you are hitting situational shots not just banging balls at the range. I hit a lot of balls as is and dont get to play much so I want to get as many different shots as possible.

I keep the same routine, just practice and play.  You might work on situations that the particular course will show you.

If something in your game is not how you want it, then work on that .  The other stuff you are doing right will be there for you.

A top notch practice facility is a rare find these days.   My local driving range charges $10 a bucket to hit off a mat with old golf balls that Bubba Watson couldn't hit more than 250 yards.    You need a practice round on the course you are going to play and a few hours on the putting green.

    Good Luck

Key on your short game. You can hit a bunch of greens and fairways, but your short game can make your round go from decent to great.

Take a look at your course and identify what shots you'll need.  Will you need to draw it, fade it, tight chips, lots of bunkers, any long carries etc...  after you've got a plan go out and execute these shots.

A practice round at your course will really help you more than range time.  You can practice on the real conditions, and if you get out late, or at an off time you can actually hit the shots you'll need come game time.

As Logan said short game is key.  If you can only do one thing, go putt.

    Continue to practice your strengths.

If you focus too much on your weak points, you will not allow the necessary time to keep up with what you are doing well. Also on that note, if you are trying to work on struggling parts, you will OVERTHINK the problem and cause more problems.

You can never go wrong with spending too much time around the greens.

I like to only go out and play is my swing is still good and im striking the ball.  I like to go out and play closer or front tees that i can score really well on just to get the fealing of having short birdie putts or reasonable eagle putts
