Does anybody listen to an ipod while hitting on the range? I tried it for a while but i can't do it. I think the only way it could help is keeping you focused and not getting distracted from noises. The biggest problem with listening to music was i couldn't hear the sound of the golf shot, i had a hard time telling if i had hit it a little fat or not. Especially with my driver, i couldn't hear the sound and it just didn't feel like i was hitting good shots at all. Does anyone do this or have tried this?

I pretty much always listen to my ipod at the driving range. Also whenever I walk the course I normally listen to it as well. I can normally tell by the divot in the ground or the lack there of, how I hit the shot. I dont listen to songs, I listen to scores from movies, that is just instruments. It relaxes me and I feel i play better or at least focus better after bad shots.

I always listen to mine while on the range or out putting

  4. I tried this one time, and speaking for myself, I'll never do it again. Heck, it didn't even last 3 swings, lol. I was hitting the ball pure (I hit a straight shot, draw and fade). However, I have to be 300% focused on each shot. Music, to me, is a distraction while golfing/practicing. I enjoy listening to the wind blow through the trees, birds chirping, the ball dropping in the cup, a crisp iron shot...

I've seen quite a few people carry their iPods on the course/range. I guess if one is comfortable, no matter what...so be it.

Sam Snead often listened to "The Blue Danube" music to set his timing.   No Ipods or earphones then.  Must've been an old record player.   You young guys can Google it.  LOL

Sometimes if I'm just chipping and putting I'll put the Pod in, especially if there's a bunch of people around or youth lesson going on.  The practice green is right below the bar deck so it can get loud.

But once I put the peg in the ground on the first tee the Pod always comes out.  One of the things I really enjoy about golf is the sounds:  Nature, the rhythm of the clubs clacking on the walk,  the sound of a well struck shot, and of course, the ball dropping in the bottom of the cup!
