How do you keep your golf game sharp during the off-season? Is the question on the Titleist page

Well we do not have a choice for us snowed in.. Hard to hit the range.. we do not have any indoor ones that work out well. Hard to see a pro, even though I will see the number one LPGA class A professional in the Midwest tomorrow.. but that if for a Holiday fest and a tip or two.

Other then that. I watch what I eat.. putt on the carpet from time to time.. practice at the local club in the proshop with a wedge now and then.

    Then shovel snow :)

I live in Cleveland, right now we are getting pounded with lake effect snow.  There is a dome close by, I try and go once a week, chip and putt in the basement.  I also stretch, ride an exercise bike daily.  Its always tough Dec thru Feb/Mar.

I live in Dublin, so, I'm not too far from you! However, I'm in SC now. It was supposed to snow/ice storm down here (and I live on the ocean/beach), but...I seen a handful of flurries...other than that, nothing. I was kind of hoping that it would snow more or something. Being down here, though, I can keep my game in shape during the Winter.

In OH, I practice inside the clubhouse as well. There's a couple of indoor places near me, so, every once in a while I'll go there. I'll also chip and putt in my house.

As with the other posters, when the weather turns nasty we're done.  No indoor places to go in our area.  We're never sure what winter will bring.  I've seen years when we've played all 12 months.  And, I've seen  years where we are shut down early December and courses won't open until late February or early March.  We had a great fall, here.  Was super cold this past weekend, but some played.  Supposed to get into the 40s this week and we will try to play.

We have a winter cover on our cart.  Have played before when the temps never get out of the 20s.  If there is no wind, that can be accomplished.

If we do get shut down due to snow, about the only thing to do is putt on carpet and dream about shaving 10 strokes off your game next season... knowing well it ain't gonna happen!!  I spend many winter weekends cleaning clubs, weighting clubs, regripping clubs... anything to make sure the clubs and bag don't think I have completely abandoned them.  I want them to know me as a familiar face when I toss 'em in the back seat and head to the course next time.

I don't know what i would do if that was the case for me. I live in California and I play all year round to keep my game in shape.

I live in Wisconsin and putt and chip in my basement to keep my shortgame good for spring. I work with the driver, irons and longer wedge shots all in the spring, which puts me at a disadvantage during late November-March because I don't get to use them all that time.

All I did last winter was workout, my days off didn't coincide with the good winter weather. For many many years I've been able to play most of the winter. I got out twice last winter, both days were supposed to be 38* sunshiny, both were 33* cloudy and the first day turned to rain, I played 3 holes first day and 6 holes the next. So I worked out most of the winter, and did a lot of snow shoveling, more last winter than the previous 15 years combined.

Surprisingly, when the weather broke, my game was better than any other start of the year.

This winter looks much like last winter, last week I was on day shift 40+ degrees and sunshiny. Off yesterday and today, temperature teens and single digits and snow, forecast for the rest of the week cold and snow(I'm on evenings). Yesterday I started shoveling at 6am, today its not as bad I'll start in about an hour.

Looks like I'll start shoveling now, just got a call.

In addition to golf, my other passion is the martial arts.  I bump up my training sessions and really focus on flexibility and breathing.   I have found that this is extremely helpful when the snow melts and I can begin to get to the range and course again.  I occasionally go to a range that has a covered/heated hitting area.  One of the local golf clubs has just installed simulators this year, so that is on the agenda.  With any luck, a Florida trip will be on the agenda a time or to this winter as well.  You know, when it gets above freezing in Orlando.

Oh yeah, I do that shoveling thing too.

I hit the gym. Work on arms, chest, abs, and do alot of cardio.   I go to the range when it isn't to cold out, and take an annual trip to Florida over Christmas week where I play between 4 and 5 rounds.

During your off season, I keep playing.  Last week I shot 71 and 74 and the highs for the two days were 72 and 80.  I tell people life doesn't get much better than having your score lower than the temperature on a winter day in Southern California.

But I didn't post just to gloat.  I'm 54 now and I find that it really helps to swing a short heavy club inside about 20-40 swings/day.  When I was younger I didn't find any benefit in a heavy club and even felt like it confused my muscle memory.  But now it really helps stretch me out, especially in the follow through and develops the muscles that power the turn.  That is what I would do  for my swing if I were stuck indoors.

Secondly, what club do you hit most during a round?  I'd practice that club a lot.  there are tons of putting aids available and if you don't have a room with appropriately stimped carpet, get one. Since I'm not encumbered by the interior design challenges presented by a member of the opposite sex at this time, I'm going a bit farther.  I'm recarpeting my TV room with artificial putting green this winter.

I usually quit playing until March or so. That give me time to forget all the bad habits I picked up over the Summer. I will work on strength training, cardio, and stretching, but the only golf I get is putting in the family room. Winter is the time when I pick up my guitar and learn some new licks.

I LIVE IN KINGWOOD, TEXAS AND WE ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO PLAY 3-5 DAYS A WEEK DURING WINTER.

VERY SELDOM DO WE NOT PLAY DUE TO COLD WEATHER.

For me, I play year round as we are retired and winter in the great state of Texas. We are able to play at least 3 to 5 times a week and if not playing golf, I can usually get over to the course and hit a bag of balls. I try to stay in shape by doing moderate aerobic exercise and that helps. And, at 70 years young, that is enough to keep me going.

Hey Dog & Eagle, This is my first post here. To everyone I live in South Louisiana & I get to play a good bit during the winter. I have been playing at least twice a week so for.  I will play as long as it's at least 40, sunny & not windy.

I bought a net (thegolfnet.com) and set up a practice station in my basement.  I'm not the tallest guy in the world, so my 8' ceilings work just fine for my swing.   I also bought a hitting mat and putting green.

I try to take a lesson about once a month and then spend the time between lessons working on the drills and “corrections" my instructor indentified.   I've been able to keep my sanity from the winter doldrums.

Buying the net was worth every penny I spent!!   It's been one of the best "Midwest winters" I can remember!   What snow??

I think your offseason is determined by your stats during the season regardless of the weather.  Finding out your strengths and weaknesses in your game will naturally set their own goals by the next season (focusing on strengths and making them more a part of your game.)    I would also find a local TPI Certified fitness pro at mytpi.com to assess your literal strengths and weaknesses.
