This is a great question. I have both the midsize staff bag and the lightweight stand bag. I would like some recommendations for a push cart that would work with both. What about the ClicGear?

I went ahead and ordered the midsized staff bag, so I guess I'm my own guinea pig. LOL
I spoke to someone at the local Golfsmith store, and they said that even the full-sized staff bag would fit on a micro cart, so the midsize should be no problem. The key is probably to NOT treat it like a large purse and avoid stuffing it full of a bunch of extra stuff you don't need to keep the weight down. Like I said, I really don't think the extra 2-3 pounds will make much of a difference when you don't carry on the course. I'll post pics on the cart when I get it, and give some feedback on how well it works. I'm sure downhill will be fine. :-)
Regarding push cart suggestions, I picked the Sun Mountain Micro Cart because of the size when folded down and the ease of folding/unfolding. I like the way it's organized and it came with a Micro Paq, for extra storage. I bought an iPhone 4 holder thru ClicGear that also works with Sun Mountain push carts here, and mounts where the umbrella holder goes. Then I bot a universal PDA/Smartphone holder from Golfsmith because I didn't want to glue the mounting button to my iPhone, and used dual lock and wire wraps to mount the bracket to the holder. I like it because this one mounts the iPhone above the handle where you can see it, and still allows use of the drink holder and the umbrella holder, if you need it. I use GolfLogix on the iPhone and a Bushnell laser range finder when I get close the green for yardage to the pin (not that I'm that accurate LOL). This combo works really well.
I bought my Micro Cart from Golfsmith when TGW had a 15% off sale and Golfsmith matched the price plus sales tax. They are currently on sale for 15% off and free shipping at TGW, which makes it $169.96 vs $199 for the Clickgear. It appears the Clicgear has more accessories available, but it was also more expensive. I have no experience pushing both, so I'm no help there. The Micro Cart pushes easily. I would think any of them get more difficult to push when the ground is not hard, or you're going up a steep grade.

I also have a sun mountain micro cart, and would love to get a midsize staff bag, so I would be very interested in hearing from you once you get your bag and try it out. I generally try and walk as well.

I have the Micro Cart as well, and my stand bag is a bit too small. I have also been looking at the midsize staff bag, so please keep us informed. There is about 8 inches of snow on the ground here in Cincinnati, so it will be well into spring before I will do anthing about changing.
Hi Bill,
My midsize bag is scheduled for delivery by Fedex tomorrow. I'll put it on my Micro Cart, and take some pics.
I haven't tried my 14-way Titleist stand bag on the Micro Cart, but past experience is that the legs of a stand bag sit on the upper mounting point, which makes the bag sit funny on the Cart. I found my old Ping bag always wanted to shift on the cart. It's not terrible, but it seems that push carts are really designed for cart and/or staff bags. I'm hoping my new midsize staff bag will be the ticket. :-)
Stay tuned.
As promised, here are pics of my new Titleist Midsize Staff Bag, both by itself and on my Sun Mountain Micro Cart:
Side
Other side
Top. With a 909 D2 driver, 15.5* & 18.5* 909 F2s and 909 H 21* & 24* hybrids in the bag, it gets a little crowded with all those headcovers.
It fits perfectly on my Sun Mountain Micro Cart and doesn't look like a circus elephant on a tricycle.
The padded section on the bottom side up by the top collar fits perfectly on the top bracket of the Micro Cart and doesn't shift around like a stand bag will.
I love this bag. My wife even says it looks VERY classy. I highly recommend the Midsize bag to anyone that doesn't carry their clubs.
Looks great, thanks for the pics, but I was wondering if the bag sat on the micro cart the other way, so you could get into the front pockets? I am very excited and will probably order mine after christmas.
Nice looking setup. Thanks for posting the pics. I'm going to look into that cart, as well as the ClicGear.
My pleasure. I was hoping everyone that might be considering this bag and a push cart would find my pics useful.
I'll try flipping the bag around on the cart and taking a pic IF it fits, but why would you want to do that? What I call the front side is the side that has the handle, strap, 1st velure lined valuables pocket, accessory pocket and the coal chute ball pocket. That means your ball pocket would be on the bottom toward the cart where you can't get to it. The way I have it positioned on the cart, the 2nd velure lined accessories pocket and the large apparel pocket is below the bag, and there other pockets I mentioned above are on top. That makes a lot more sense to me. How often during a round do you need to get in the apparel pocket? I believe you can still get in the apparel pocket when it's on the push cart. Another thing is there is a pad on the back (under while on the push cart) side that is designed to fit against the mounting bracket of an electric (riding) cart or on the push cart. If you flip the bag over, it is going to be sitting on the snaps for the rain hood OR it might even sit on the carrying handle. Another thing is that, if you flip the bag over, the carrying strap is going to be hanging on the ground (if you don't remove it).
I'll get my Micro Cart back out of the car and try it and let you know if it will even fit that way. I have a feeling that the coal chute ball pocket might rest on the frame of the push cart if flipped over, as well.
Well I never thought about that. The bag that I use is a cart bag that my buddy gave me when he bought a new bag. I have just always put the bag on with the bag strap to the back, so the pockets all face out. You are correct in the fact that I dont really get in many pockets while playing ( just the ball chute to get new balls out, lol). The setup still looks good and would like to thank you for your response.
I think the distinction between the two bags is your's is a true cart bag and THIS is a staff bag. Cart bags have a strap and handle on the side that faces the cart, and I believe they all have a way of securing the strap while its on a riding or push cart. The are SPECIFICALLY designed to sit that way with the most important pockets on the side opposite the handle & strap. A staff bag is like a more traditional bag that has been used forever with the pockets you access most often on the handle/strap side. I didn't try to access it while on the cart, but I think you can still get to the apparel pocket pretty easily while it's on a Micro Cart (don't know about other push cart brands).
Cart bags are very functional, but there is something about the design that has always bugged me and I just put my finger on it...they remind me of a Flounder!! LOL You know, a Flounder is flat, with both eyes on one side of it's body, and they swim along the bottom. I haven't owned a true cart bag, but it just seems like it would be weird to carry it with pockets on 3 sides, where 1 pocket is going to rest against your hip as you carry it. It's like they are built upside down for carrying. The design makes perfect sense while it's on a cart, tho. One thing most cart bags seem to have is a putter well. That would be a very cool feature on this bag, but it's designed to be a compact version of the full-sized staff bag, so that would probably add bulk and defeat the purpose.
Again I WILL try in on my Micro Cart flipped over. We're having VERY unusual weather her in So Cal. It's been raining for days, so no golf, but my new Titleist Midsize Staff Bag looks beautiful in my livingroom holding my clubs. :-)

Gorgeous! I purchased the same bag a few months ago and have been loving it since. I literally have the exact same setup, minus the 909 hybrids and woods. However, I'm hoping that they may show up soon. I have Cleveland's in there right now and they absolutely clash!
Enjoy the new bag!

Thanks very much. I agree. Titleist really has it going on when it comes to looks. I also think they have made strides to become more forgiving for the mid-handicapper, but still workable for better players. I took about 3 years off from golf while I started an online retail car parts business and just started playing again about 3 months ago. Between diet, exercise and 3-years to forget my bad swing habits, I'm hitting the ball better than ever. With Titleist clubs getting more forgiving and my swing getting better, I feel I CAN be a Titleist player. I love all my clubs. Maybe I'll get some 910s next year. For now, I don't feel I need the adjustability.
With the new 910 drivers out and the fairways and hybrids coming soon, now is a great time to pickup up new and used 909 stuff. I got some smoking deals on my driver (demo) and FWs and hybrids. My Titleist woods replaced another driver and 3W and my hybrids, which I gave to my 17 year old son. I actually find my 909 D2 more forgiving than the old driver. Fairways are about the same, but I think the 909H's might be a little less forgiving, but more workable. But ALL seem to be very long, if you hit the sweet spot (kind of the object). I think you should ask Santa to replace your Clevelands with some Titleist 909s (or 910s if there is a Mrs. Claus to approve). If we ever happen to run into each other, we can get twin sons from different mothers. LOL
Happy Holidays...
Have you been able to take the cart and bag out of the course yet? I know you guys have been having some crazy weather and was just curious. I was 1 minute away from buying one today until my wife walked back into the store, lol
Yeah, it's been unseasonably cold for Southern California. I'm sure all the guys across the northern areas of the country don't want to hear us whining about it being in the low 50s while playing golf here in So Cal. LOL
I've managed to play a couple of times in the past two weeks. I've taken it out on both the Micro Cart, and today I had it on an electric (riding) cart. It works great on both. It looks like it would be heavy, but I think the bag itself is only 3 pounds heavier than my Titleist 14-way stand bag. I don't even notice the weight on the Micro Cart. If the bag is heavy, it's because of all the extra balls, jackets, gloves, etc. we have a tendency to stuff in the bag. I wouldn't want to carry it 18 holes, but that's what a stand bag is for. If you're not going to carry, this an absolutely awesome bag. It is gorgeous and the pockets are well organized. Personally, I like the looks of the midsize bag much better than the fullsized bags. You won't be sorry if you buy one. :-)

Anyone thinking about buying a push cart should look very carefully at the ClicGear 3.0. I've had mine about 6 months and I love it. I highly recommend it. I use the Titleist Premium stand bag and they work perfectly together.
I am in Southern GA, and we seem to be getting the same weather. Glad for the info, maybe ordering mine soon. I found it on Discount golf world. com but it is back ordered. for 169.99!! I know great price. Going to see if Edwin Watts will price match.
$169.99 is a good deal on the ClicGear 3.0. I'm also going to check that site out and see if my local Ed's will match it.

Sorry about the mis understanding, The price was for a titleist midsize staff bag, not for clic Gear. If a clic gear was 169.99 it would still be a great price I agree. I bought the sun mountain micro cart, mainly because of its size. I have a mustang that I normally take to the course and it folds up and fits perfectly in the trunk even with my clubs.
On another note, Edwin Watts will not price match an online store, only stores that you can walk into, so if anyone knows of where a Discount Golf Worl store is, that would be awesome, lol.
I got my Sun Mountain Micro Cart for $169.96 when TGW had a 15% off sale.
Just ordered my midsize staff bad yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very excited. Thanks for all the info. I will let you know how much i love it.
Keep us posted Josh. Upload some pics.
Well I got home late last night from my trip so I waited till this morning to put my clubs in their new home.
The only thing I dislike about this bag is when I put it on my cart I have to remove the umbrella from the holder and put it back it. Also my putter is a 34 inch and doesnt really reach teh bottom. However I love this bag. It makes a good addition to my titliest equipment. I would deffinatley recommend this to anyone interested in a new sweet looking bag.
Josh,
Very, very nice setup there. I'm looking to get a cart for my midsize bag. What are your thoughts on how the midsize fits on the Sun Mountain cart? Which model is that one?
I havent had a chance to take it to the course yet (hoping to do that this afternoon). But I did walk to the driving range and used it there. i think that it fits very well on the cart. You have access to almost every pocket without moving your bag. The large apparel pocket is the only one you cant really get to without moving the bag. The clubs sit in there nicely and it looks really sharp. The cart is the sun mountain micro cart. I got it on sale when the golf galaxy near me left town (the deals were awesome). I picked this cart because it folds down compactly, and because I have a mustang it need to fit in the trunk along with my bag, which it does rather nicely. There are no pins or bolts, just 2 clips and the whole cart folds down. I havent had any problems with it tipping over or anything as well. I can post picture later if you would like of just the cart. All in all very satisfied with the bag. My wife thinks I am crazy but I want to find someone to put my name on the pocket like the pros have, lol. It will be awesome.
It fits on the Micro Cart great, huh? I really don't it's much bigger than a cart bag, if at all. The apparel pocket is on the bottom, but you can access it from the sides and how often during a round do you need to get in the apparel pocket, anyway. I love my Titleist Midsize Staff Bag. It's functional and looks cool. If I decide to walk AND carry I have my Titleist 14-stand bag. I definitely wouldn't want to carry it for 18 holes, but if you empty out all the extra junk we tend to stuff into a large bag, I think it really only weighs 2-3 pounds more than a carry bag. Still, my respect goes out to pro caddies. :-)
Discount Golf World is where I bought mine. Good price and reasonably fast shipping. I think I got the only one they had in stock at the time.
