Who else is semi-depressed at the lack of golf during this time of the year?  At least some tournament golf will be on TV soon, but it will just make me want to play more.  I did get out for a New Year's Day annual tournament, but it was 39 degrees with high winds.  Wasn't pretty (or warm), but at least I got to hit some Titleist equipment.

    Here's to warmer weather!

I hope so - the shovel and ice melt are certainly not as exciting as the driver, hybrid, wedge and putter!  In New England, we at least have the Patriots to occupy our interests until golf season starts.

It is hard to play in 2 ft. of snow.  Positive side, the fairways and greens will have time to regenerate and with all the moisture the effects of last years draught should be reversed.  Come spring beautiful green golf course.

This time of year should also be utilized to up grade equipment, new grips for example.  With the equipment show coming up in the middle of January, it will be interesting to read whats new.  Look forward for a full review on the new Pro v 1 & x.  I presently,(in season) play the Prov1x and can't believe that titleist was able to improve it.

Additional commet:  here in NYC the parks dept. will be opening a new Jack Nicklaus golf course this March.   The background is The mayor wanted a course that could host a major PGA event.  Can't wait.

I have been lucky enough to make it out a few times this winter here in Colorado. The greens are, of course, very hard though. It's like hitting cement when your ball hits the green. It was nice to get out and hit my new AP2's though. Hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!

This is another reason Texas is blessed by God.  The high tomorrow is 70 w/ no wind.  I'll probably play three times this weekend.  In December I probably played 8 to 10 rounds.  When and if is snows, which is rare, it usually melts by the next day.

That said, the summers can be brutally hot.  But overall it's year around golf.

Played yesterday and today, high 50's, low 60's but lots of wind from the NW at 15-20 with 30 mph gust. Snow predicted to come in Sunday and Monday and next week high in the 30's at best. I live in central Arkansas and we can play 12 months out of the year but this time of year you may only have a few good days in January to mid February. A good day to me is anything above 50 degrees. I'm not as mad to hit that little white ball when it gets below 50 like I was when I was younger.About 16 guys at our club headed out to Tuscon, AZ today. Hope they don't have issues with the storm that is coming our way.
