The season may be winding down, but the validation of new Pro V1 and Pro V1x continues to heat up!
This week at the RSM Classic, Titleist is the overwhelming #1 golf ball (74% are teeing up a Titleist!) - with a total of 30 players gaming the 2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1x. And the field’s favorite model? 2023 Pro V1x.
Among the 30 is Ben Taylor, who recorded his best finish to date on TOUR (solo 3rd) at last week’s Houston Open - the same week that he made the move from Pro V1 Left Dot to the NEW Pro V1.
Taylor first played the new model during Monday’s pro-am at Memorial Park, then worked with Titleist Golf Ball R&D rep Fordie Pitts on the range to confirm the performance on TrackMan. “He liked the flight he was seeing, the consistency in his spin numbers, and was excited to tee it up,” Pitts said.
We caught up with Ben this week at Sea Island to get his thoughts on the new ball and the improvements he saw in Houston:
The validation process didn’t stop with Tour players this week at Sea Island. Also on the range, was our team of expert golf ball fitters, who helped every Pro-Am participant find which of the new 2023 models fit their game the best – with one player gaining over 5 mph of ball speed while testing the newest Pro V1.
And over the Florida-Georgia line in Naples, FL, the LPGA’s culmination event of the year is rolling, with more players teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x than three times all other brands… combined.
Just last week, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x made their LPGA TOUR debut at the Pelican Championship, with several players making the immediate switch to the new models after testing. Among those players, Lizette Salas, Marina Alex and Amy Yang all teed up the new Pro V1x this week in Naples.
Stay tuned as the validation process for new Pro V1 and Pro V1x continues! #1ballingolf
