2022 was a great year for golf memories... I was very privileged to attend some great events, and play some bucket list courses...
1. Attending The 150th Open Championship @ St. Andrews
2. Experiencing Scottish golf with my son
3. Watching my son fall in love with the game as he earned his first birdie (he's 13 and learning the game!)
4. Playing Dunbar on the Scottish Golf Coast... that wind is everything they've written about
5. Nairn Golf Club in the Highlands where I learned that in Scotland "you don't say 'good shot' until the ball stops rolling" according to my caddie
6. Introducing my son to professional golf up close - and laughing because he ran into Justin Thomas who came out the wrong door and walked right into him! Watching him watch the greats, Tiger, Rory, JT, Jordan Spieth etc. was awesome.
7. Experiencing Swinley Forest - one of my personal top three courses I've played... just a gorgeous course with devilish greens and the nicest folks around. After the round, a Swinley Special drink and Chicken Carbonara on the patio was incredible!
8. Hazeltine - the wind and cold in Minnesota rivaled the Scottish coast on that day, but incredible seeing the trophies and learning that those greens don't give an inch!
9. Establishing my first ever GHIN Handicap and then working to improve it
10. Easily making this list is posting about my trip to the U.K. on Team Titleist... and then watching the help and advice pour in as I planned. To top it all off... Andrew who is a member of Team Titleist reached out and invited me as his guest to play Walton Heath which was the nicest thing ever! I love this game... I love Titleist and this forum!
What did you experience in 2022 and what trips are planned in 2023?
