I'm 70, playing a new TSR2 or TSR3 driver, both at 11*. Sometimes I like to play with a driving club, 5-wood, 5-hybrid, 7, 9, PW, SW and putter. I carry a png soft carry bag.

I'm thinking of using a TSR2+ fairway wood as my driving club for when I play the senior tees (5,600 yards, often) or a par 3 course.

My drivers are 11* set to A1 (12.5* loft?), with HZRDUS Red 50 5.0 or Red. 60 5.0. Driving distance is probable 210 to 215, maybe 220 sometimes.

Question: should I go with the 13* or 14.5* loft in the TRS2+? I would play the 13* at 14.5* most likely, and the 14.5* at 15* or so. The club would be used exclusively from the tee.

    T300 7-iron is 140 yards (Nippon 950 NEO).

  2. I would go with the 14.5...I have both and I feel it is much easier to hit and will gap better with your driver at 11 degrees. IMHO

    Cheers, Chris

I think we would just be guessing at how it would perform for you. Maybe get one with a 30-day return policy and try it out? BTW, if you are set at A1 on your drivers, they should be playing at the normal listed loft of 11 degrees. A4 would give you the added 1.5 degree.

I just turned 58 and hope to hit as far as you at 70. I play the TSR3 11° (265 yds), TSi2 16.5° (230), and 21° (215). Instead of adjusting the settings in the current fairway metals, get the TSR2+ 13° and 4 and 7 woods. The 7- 21° launches and flies higher than the 5 hybrids. It would eliminate another club to make the bag lighter, too.
