From his first start as a PGA TOUR member at the Fortinet Championship all the way to his final start of 2023 at the RSM Classic, 2022-23 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Eric Cole trusted his Pro V1x golf ball on his way to putting together a debut PGA TOUR season to remember. Cole finished the 2022-23 season with seven top-10 finishes, including a runner-up at the Honda Classic. He ended 2023 with four top-5 finishes in his final five events and was the only rookie out of a group of 28 to finish in the top 50 of the FedEx Cup Standings.
“I used to use to the Pro V1 last year on the Korn Ferry tour and about half way through the year I needed a little more spin, especially with my irons, so I switched to the Pro V1x,” said Cole. “And that helped me get the ball to stop a little faster on the greens, which is really important in professional golf, and especially on the PGA TOUR.”
For the season, Cole ranked 1st in hole-outs, jarring his Pro V1x from off the green 28 times. He also ranked inside the top 20 in Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green and Strokes Gained: Approach-the-Green.
“[Pro V1x is] just really consistent,” he said. “You know the quality you’re getting from Titleist and that’s a really important thing out here. The profile of it just fits me really well.”
As the 2024 PGA TOUR Season gets underway at Kapalua, we caught up with Eric to gain some short game insight and hear more on how Pro V1x gives him the control he’s looking for around the greens.
Congrats to Eric on a special rookie season!
