It was supposed to be in the 50's yesterday, so I went out, it was cold cold cold wet and windy. I tried playing for an entire 9 holes. I finished hole 9 and couldn't take it anymore.
Today was nice, and still is(68* right now), I went out today and played horrible.

In the 80's and windy here in Oklahoma today. Spent a couple of hours at the range beating balls. Will play tomorrow.

The snow is melting in Minnesota, but it's going to be awhile before we see green grass here...I'm just hoping we don't have one of those spring snow storms we've seen in the past few years. I have been diagnosed with "golf fever" and I can't wait for some Masters coverage to soothe me through until I can hit a Titleist that isn't on my livingroom carpet!

I am with you fellow Minnesotan. Waiting for the golf course to open, cant wait. Bring on the Masters.

Good temps and sunny days in Oklahoma, so I got out a few days ago and hacked it around the course. Gonna go back out today and see if I can improve on my first round of the year. Might even win a dollar from my brother if I am lucky.

Oh yeah it is! I got to play some G for the first time this season yesterday. You know it's early season, and my game was a mess.
On my first hole I crushed my new 910 right down the pipe, came up short on the approach, then chipped over, then chipped in. Good par for the season start.
One of the fairways was totally standing water, and the tees were all over the place, but I really didn't care. It's just awesome to play some golf.
Cheers to spring
Shot 72 today with a cold front moving in. Went from 70 to low 50's real quick.
Won a few dollars though, so a good day.

I'm working on it Josh, my 8 y/o goes to the range with me. My 5 y/o twins have a club and mess around the in the yard with some plastic golf balls but haven't caught the itch yet. I hope all three of my daughters pick up the game and get a scholarship to college that way dad doesn't have to pay!!!!

Now you're talking. I've heard that there's always woman's sports scholarships that go unclaimed every year. My Boss's daughter just started high school and made the freshman golf team even though they don't have a girl's team. He's thinking scholarship too.
I don't have kids, but I got my Fiance swinging. Her favorite part is the 19th hole. When we have kids I'll do my best to inject them with the golf bug like you're doing. Maybe driving range and ice cream afterwards?
Good luck to you Steve!

just about 70 degrees here in massachusetts today and was extremely happy to hit the range but sadly the course is still not open. cant wait till the season starts up again!!!!
Glad to see my fellow members getting out on the course!!! I am going crazy, went to TX for spring break with the kids but wife said no golf!!! I am enjoying my time with the kids but man the course is calling my name.

Teach your kids to golf, there's strength in numbers. My boss taught his daughter to golf and now when they go to arizona in the winter she wants to golf, he wants to golf, and the wife- well she can't trump them both.

My favorite courses aren't open yet either, but I found some little local munies that are. It's just good to get out and play! I can't wait till everything is full bloom up here in New England.

Municipal courses should be opening here fairly soon but went to range and felt good. A little mad because I just purchased the Titleist magnetic ball marker hat and already lost the ball marker for it. Southern Wisconsin is still a little bit soggy, just finally got rid of all the snow in my yard. Hoping some time opens up and weather cooperates to have a decent April. Loving the new TVD wedges I purchased this off-season, Smooth.
Been out swinging the sticks for a week and I love it. Only bad part is all the pollen in the air from the high winds, been driving my allergies crazy, but golf is being played. Hope some of you get thawed out and are able to go hit some or play a round.
Sorry to hear it Josh,
It has been a weird winter/spring. I know I have definitely had cabin fever going on. Only got to play 18 holes since January 5th. I am going crazy.
Yeah it was tough to see snow again. It's like being ravenously hungry, having the best dinner ever, taking one bite, and having it taken away! Fortunately all that snow melted today, but it's definitely going to delay the course openings...

Spring is finally here! We are getting into the mid-80s in Texas. I was wondering, what courses did you play when you were in Texas?
Jonderdonk,
I played at Great Southwest Golf Course, Links at Waterchase, and got a round in on the old course I used to play all the time when I was a broke college student at UTA, Charles W. Ditto Golf Course. It is a Arlington public course. Are you from the DFW area? I am relocating back there this summer.
