    10 fairways, 7 GIR, 35 putts, score 87

To be fair to the stats the greens did cause a few extra putts, plus a few more strokes getting back on the green. They aerated, sand filled, so stopping the ball on the green has been hard, putting not too bad. But now we have gone thru a few storms and the sand is really packed in, and the aeration holes are horrible.

But still I had 3 holes accounting for +8.

#2 first driver hole, pulled left hit a tree and kicked OB(I like when they kick back in the fairway), next attempt started the right direction and drew(drawed?) out of the fairway, 4i landed short and rolled on, 2 putt double.

#11 nice drive down left side(preferred), bad 2nd hitting tree and bouncing back and left, then stupid took over, tried the impossible shot and put the ball in the ditch, dropped and hit on the green, 2 putt for double

#12 8i pull hooked thin over the cliff, then pull hooked over the hill beside the green, pitched on, 3 putted for a quad. True my pitch and/or putt may have better and saved a stroke if the green was in better shape, but I look at it as frustration setting in.

The other 3 missed fairways resulted in pars.

#9 missed left rough, 5i from 155 couldn't make it to the green, pitch and putt.

#15 3w trying for right side missed about 2 ft into rough not bad, 7i on, 2 putt

#18 hit ground sent ball high and right(bad tee box, you have to adjust and I didn't. last year they started the repair of 3 tee boxes and not quite ready for use yet), 3w rough, pw short left, pitch and putt.

About half way thru they started mowing the greens, probably why I could 1 putt 9  and 18(first 2 mowed), hopefully today putting will be better but I'd guess keeping the ball on the green will still be a challenge. According to the weather we have another storm coming tomorrow, hopefully by the time it gets here it will be just a light rain.

I was right the greens are harder and they do putt a little better.

I played with 1 guy I know and 2 I don't know, the pace was unbearable, my regular group is 3-3:30, today was nearly 5hrs.

    On the front I had

    0 fairways, 1 gir, 13 putts, 1 birdie, 1 triple, 1 double, 2 bogeys, 4 pars, 42

The triple was stupid play, the double was smart play but it was just one of those days.

The time between shots was way too long to get things going, I quit keeping my score after 9. But I can say the back side was horrible.

Yesterday I had this nice little draw with my 907D2 9.5*, today it wasn't there, good contact wasn't there.

The 983K 8.5* is back in the bag for this weekend.

This weekend is the one weekend a year I get to play golf. It ends with a scramble to honor Elmore Just founder of Louisville Golf and to generate money for a scholarship in his name. My team gets together in Louisville for the weekend to party and play golf(I'm the designated driver). Sunday will be just us playing for bragging rights, by the time the scramble starts on Monday we will be about half dead.

Since the doc has me eating things like turkey bacon, fake cheese, no eggs, no fried foods....I may have a heart attack this weekend because I will be eating real bacon cheese eggs and fried foods(steak and maybe some pork chops wrapped in cheese and bacon)

It looks like the storm may turn into a drizzle and not get here until late tomorrow, so I'll be playing tomorrow and I can't start with the new stat tracker.

Much more like it, played with my regular partner today. 79 still not enough fairways and greens but I had a nice little draw going with the 983K.

It was a fun weekend, Sunday played Fuzzy's newest course, well designed and pretty.

Winds were unbelievable, pretty close to saying it wasn't playable. The greens had been aerated, looked like they were mostly healed, the little holes were terrible and the greens were fast, 3 putt was normal. When the greens are better and the wind dies down a bit this will be a great course to play.

Monday, Persimmon Ridge, at starting time the winds died into a mild breeze, the course was perfect, the course is owned and operated by Louisville Golf. The greens were super fast and rolled perfect. We pulled off an 8 under which was tied for 5th and a scorecard playoff putt us in 8th(which didn't matter because 5th thru 10th got PCS hats)

Got to see a duck attack, twice. One drive made it across the water and rolled back down the bank, from the tee we watched the duck jump up and sit down on the ball. We went and found our balls and came back to the duck, there was another ball about 2ft away and they coaxed the duck to sit on it, but every time he started to bend over to get the ball the duck would start to attack. So we distracted the duck and he grabbed his ball, the duck went berserk, flew right at him, he hit the ground, and the duck came down on his back hitting him with its beak. So the guy I was with(slightly drunk) decided to grab the other ball and the duck came after him, the duck was beating him in the back while he was running. They both jumped in the carts and took off. I couldn't stop laughing. We were about 160 from the center and none of us could hit the green.

Today, back home, and our greens are back to puttable.

    81 40-41, 4 fairways, 6 gir, 30 putts, 3 of 7 up and downs, 0 of 1 sand.

    83 41-42 6 fairways, 7 gir, 34 putts, 3 of 9 up and downs, 0 sand attempts

    1 double, 9 bogeys,  8 pars, 0 birdies

In general my putting was pretty good, my short game was lacking. I just couldn't land the ball in the right place. Well it was more of a problem of picking the right place to land the ball, I would land close to my spot, but if it was where I thought it should land the ball would keep rolling, if I picked a spot then took some off the ball would stop, I just couldn't get it right.

We had some pretty high winds again today, but I'm getting a little better at handling it. My full swing problem today was pushing my irons.

I only missed 1 fairway that put me trouble, dreaded hole 13, playing for a draw, hit off the toe and into the woods, pitched out, hit on and 2 putted.

I'm missing more fairways but I'm trying to put the ball in the best place it can be, so missing a little bit means missing the fairway, I'm not worried about it.

    Hi John,

Sounds like a solid round in the wind. Hopefully you're tracking your stats in the My Game section. Keep an eye out for a great new video tip from Titleist Advisory Staff Member Butch Harmon on how to hit your driver in windy conditions. We should have that posted in the next day. Stay tuned!

Sure I'm putting the stats in My Game.

Went out this morning, wasn't feeling good and ended up going back home for awhile, went back out after lunch.

86(esc 84), 47 on the front, went par, double, par, double, par, par, triple, triple, bogey. 39 on the back, hole 12 par 3 I hit a good shot and the rest of the round just turned around. Winds were mild today(finally).

    Hopefully tomorrow it won't rain.

Poured the rain this morning, course was already plenty wet, saw a break in the radar and went to the course.

Didn't get rained on, the wind was calm, and I was dressed just right for the weather(2 long sleeve, and a wind breaker).

9 pars 9 bogeys, eliminated them doubles and triples. 81 40-41

After hole 13 all I needed was to par out for a 79.

14 fairway, missed green, up and down

15 fairway, missed green, up and down

16 missed green, up and down

Now if I can by 17, 18 should be at least a par(fairly easy par 5)

17 missed left almost in the tree line, all I could do was punch out to the spot I wanted my tee shot to end up, hit fat came up short and right of the green, up and down to save bogey.

18 Thinking birdie would be nice I pushed my tee shot way right, going to play up between 10 and 18, topped 3 wood about 50y, used 17* I can still make it to the green, missed way short, PW landed exactly where I wanted but yet again where I wanted was wrong, 2 putted.

I used to play blades and I just can't get the control of the 962's that I want, so today I found a set of 990b's, should be here next week, with the less offset hopefully they will cure my iron game. My only worries is they have rifle 6.5, I've tried 7.0 and that is way too stiff for me. May have to pull a set of s300 or r300 to put in them.
