Yesterday I got off at 7am(last midnight shift), went to the golf course, and it was pretty bad, as expected, its been raining and cold for so long. The temp yesterday started at 55*(not bad) and got warmer, but with humidity at 80% it sure didn't feel like 55 and warmer. In my attempt to stay awake I played 2 rounds, both bad. By the time I finished I was about to drop. Got home and actually made it to 9pm before I just couldn't hold my eyes open.

Get up this morning and "stiff" doesn't quite describe it. Went to the course and the bad play was still there, shot a 94(and that was better than the guy that played both rounds with me yesterday). Starting about hole 13 I began to loosen up.

Since the next time I can play will be Monday(weather permitting), I decided to play another(this one is a little better)

    1 birdie, 9 pars, 8 bogeys 79 38-41 1-3 putt 5 of 9 up and downs

  2. Playing is always fun, but, don't forget to practice, and exercise. In my opinion, if you do both, your score(s) will improve and you'll feel much better. I wish you the best of luck with your game!

I play after mids all the time (Nuclear Plant Operator)...I agree with exercising and practice as an approach to playing better.  Nothing like hitting the course when everyone else is heading to work :-)

Last night we had another big storm, then again this morning. About 10am it cleared up and off to the course I went. Got it going good today.

    76 38-38, 4 of 8 up and downs, 11 fairways, 10 greens, 32 putts

Had several real birdie opportunities, but failed to make the putt, too much pressure I guess. The back 9 I went 7 pars then bogied 17, then feeling I had to make birdie on 18 I broke down for another bogey.

Of course they are calling for rain the entire week, and of course this is my week off, hopefully the rest of the week will be no worse than today(weather wise) and at least as good golf wise.

Well today the stats weren't as good but had the same score

76 37-39 5 of 8 up and downs, 0 of 2 sand saves(both were close just missed the putts), 7 fairways, 8 greens, 30 putts

A chip in birdie on 17 held the back to a 39

    2 birdies(1 chip in the other about 20ft putt), 6 bogies, 10 pars and a 3 putt

Someday it might quite raining, but I doubt it will be this week.

It was really slow today, waiting and waiting, my mental toughness can hang for only so long and then a blow up.

2 triples and a double, 8 strokes in 3 holes arrrrrgh

    82 42-40

    3 of 6 up and downs, 6 fairways, 9 greens, 32 putts

Our rough is getting really bad rough, they were out trying to mow today, making big tracks all over the place, and of course I was never in a mowed spot. The fairways are getting pretty darn rough too, but you can't walk across without leaving tracks. Finding balls is getting tougher too. ENOUGH RAIN, supposed to start again tonight and become severe tomorrow, oh boy.

Got out good and early today, playing by myself, that's nice, no ball searching except for mine, no type of distractions, nobody in front of me and nobody coming up behind. Just take my time, relax, actually think things over before acting.

I've been having troubles with short putts, so today I practiced short putts for about 20 min before starting.

Hole 2 driver down the middle, 8i to 4 ft, then I cheated, I dropped 3 balls in front of the green and pitched up and putted them before putting my play ball for a birdie.

Hole 5 I moved about 4 ft to the fairway because that was the only place I could get out of the muddy tracks from the mowers running yesterday.

Hole 13 I pulled my iron shot(not bad), then again on 14, so I dropped another ball to try and fix it. Of course I played the original and bogeyed the hole.

    75 37-38, 8 fairways, 6 greens, 27 putts, 7 of 12 up and downs, 2 birdies 5 bogeys 11 pars. I'm feeling good.

holes 7 and 17 were lip outs for par, 18 was a lip out for birdie

Hole 11 drive dead center, 3w to fade around the trees and it was hit what I thought was perfect, I just knew I had a eagle putt. Driving up to the green I didn't see the ball, first place I looked was in the hole(thinking double eagle), nope not there, starting looking all the places it should be, not there either, began to widen my search circle. 60y back, just past the trees I was fading around there it was, what a bummer. Pitched up short of the green, pitched up to the hole for a tap-in par.

btw for the usga rangers out there the round was not entered for hcp.
