Well the past 19 days have gone by pretty fast but I think I'm in good shape to post a decent score tomorrow. The clubs are clean, the ball pocket is stocked with fresh Pro V1x's, and I'm ready for the 7:57 am tee time.

All of the range sessions have been enjoyable and shifting my focus to practicing with a purpose will hopefully pay dividends tomorrow. I know in the long run this will be one of the biggest take aways for me.  As a guy who doesn't get to play golf as much as I would love to, changing my practice sessions to be more focused instead of mindless races to the bottom of the bucket will no doubt have a positive impact on my scores when I do get out.

I really appreciate the encouragement, tips and advice that you all have offered as I chronicled this short journey. The next chapter starts with a 5 am wake-up call tomorrow and I'll post my score after the round.

I've enjoyed having a goal to focus on and I'm looking forward to the first tee tomorrow. To be honest, I'm also feeling a little nervous but I think there's more excitement than nervousness.

Until then, it's time to call it a night. Thanks again Team Titleist.

    - Mike

    Well, how'd you sleep?

Today I'm going up to Cinci to play Legendary Run, one of the courses I will play in the TGC Am Tour, and as usual it took a long time to go to sleep, and 4:30am(an hour before I wanted) my eyes pop open.

Weather.com has severe storms all thru the Ky Oh, but for Cinci 10% chance of partic partic partic rain. High of 84 during play time.

I don't expect much out of my play today, Friday I shot 91 and yesterday 93(92esc).

I'm looking forward to see how you do today.

May the bounce always be in your favor.

Well team, I wish I had better news to report but it looks like I'll have to wait until next year. The putter never got going for me today and that really hurt my score. I've been averaging 30 putts a round and today was not even close (40 total - ouch!). Mother Nature also decided to move up the afternoon showers to the AM so we were pretty soggy all day. Focusing on the positives, I was happy with my ball striking for the most part. And while I couldn't score to save my life, I'm walking away with a great experience and I'm even more motivated now to really get the game in shape. Now it's time to find the next tournament. And in case you're wondering, the final tally was a woeful 95 (worst round of the season). Thanks again for all of the support and here's to a better showing next time around.

Ouch :(  Well, you couldn't have a better example than Rory - 80 in the Masters to US Open Champion!

ehhhhh it happens to the best of us!

Cathi is right, look at TW and even Rory! We all have those bad rounds, but thats why we love this crazy game of golf!

Sounds like you could also use a AZ golf vacation to get away from mother nature! Let me know and we will hit the ball around.

    talk soon,

    Neil

Having been in your position before, you might want to do what I did and consider a new Scotty Cameron...

The next one will be easier; that's the way it goes. You learn from every tournament and I'm sure you took something positive away from this one. However, it doesn't help your cause only having 19 days to prepare. You need to start playing more!! That should be your priority in life . . . . more golf for Mike! More golf will improve your scores and confidence. More golf for Mike! More golf for Mike! More golf for Mike! I'd keep chanting, but I've got to go now. Got a golf outing today!
