Just curious but wondering what time of the day do you prefer to play golf ? My ideal time is between 11 AM and 2 PM. I know it is cooler in the morning but the humidity is also at it's highest at least here in the South. When putting on the greens and your ball leaves a rooster tail and a trail to the hole, it is way too early for me. Also what is your limit temperature wise when golf does not become fun ? For me the fun ceases when the wind chill/heat index is 45 or less and 105 or more.

    I prefer early.

I have a 40* rule, 38* if there is no wind. It depends on lot on humidity but about 95* is high enough.

Yesterday I was about 10am and it got hot hot hot.

And of course the club championship is tomorrow and Sunday starting at 1pm, it's gonna be hot hot hot.

For me it is 7:00 AM. When we get there the greens are being groomed for the day and just once in  a while do get one where the guys haven't cleaned them off yet. And with this extreme weather we are having, the early start is great

I like the very early or the very late time.  Early is best, but there's something nice about finishing up right as the sun is setting.

Definitely early. Used to always tee off at sunrise or first tee time, but it can get interesting in the Spring with the fog up here in New England. Makes for an scary 1st tee shot when you have to listen for whether you are in the fairway or not. I still love it though.

Sunday Mornings early are great...but I really like going out in the evening by myself and hitting 2 or 3 balls and getting some practice in, if there is any wind, it usually dies off in the evening making it nice. I often have my Ipod on, too. My favorite is teeing off at 7am and golfing ALL DAY!! :)

I prefer early, but not too early. My favorite is a 8:30 tee time. But I also like a 3:00 tee time to. Both work for me!

The reason I asked this question was that I know there are morning larks and night owls so to speak. The only thing I do good early is when I go hunting or fishing. Early morning does not suit my golf game very well. I have played horrible the last two Saturdays when we have had a 8 AM tee time. I'm talking very bad. I'm talking 10 to 15 strokes over my handicap. The reason is the heat is horrific after 12 PM. I got up earlier than usual (6 AM) but I still hardly had time to warm up. Played better a little bit on the back 9 but the damage was done score wise by the fifth hole. The question I have to answer is do I continue to play early which means I am most likely to play bad or do I play later and burn up but my golf is better ? Golf is suppose to be fun but getting up before the chickens and then playing horrible is not fun.
