Hey TT, So I'll be seeing many of your at the TT event in Pinehurst, and my wife will be joining me (not for the event, just for the trip). After the TT event, we're going to play some rounds together. We'll certainly play the Cradle, but I'm looking for some other recommendations either on or off the Pinehurst campus.

We're staying in Pinehurst at a condo and will have a car, so driving isn't an issue. We also may be heading to visit some friends in Winston Salem so any suggestions that way would be appreciated as well.

Ideally I'd like something that's challenging from the back tees and forgiving from the forward tees. 9 hole courses and par 3s are generally her favorite, but anything with a laid back vibe and some scenery will do nicely. Thanks for the recommendations and think spring.

Pinehurst #3 is a good option for something there at the resort. Full 18 holes but fairly short overall and not too much trouble.

Glad to hear it. No.3 looked like a good one for her. Has anyone played Southern Pines? That looked like a good one for her

Played there about 4-5 years ago. It is a Donald Ross course, so the greens are what they are. If you are coming through Raleigh-Durham, the UNC course at Chapel Hill didn't appear overly aggressive from the front tees. #1 Pinehurst is the shortest, but the greens have a lot of elevation that require some skill to hold them. I agree with #3. ...My wife would as well...

If you end up going to Winston Salem, Oak Valley, Salem Glen and Tanglewood (championship course) are some great courses to check out!
