hi all, purchased a Titleist 913 D2 driver the other day, been playing well with it however sometimes struggle to get the ball up in the air. i bought a 10.5 deg 913 D2, now if i altered the surefit to add .75 loft so going from A1 to D4 would this close the clubface down or would it still be neutral ? if it would close the face down what setting on the surefit would i need to add the .75 deg loft but have in the neutral face setting ?

    Hi InTheHole,

Moving to D4 from A1 will just add loft, it won't close or open the face. The following link may be of use - http://media.titleist.com/images/titleist/pdfs/US/2013/sales/2012_913Chart.pdf

    Best regards

Have just been fitted for a 913 D3 at St Ives and would like to say the fitting experience was excellent. I was fitted by Dan Friend and his knowledge and helpfulness was first class. I will definitely be returning to look at my irons.

One point though, during the fitting I was told moving the loft settings down would open the face (slightly) and conversely adding loft would close the face (again, slightly). I was recommended to move diagonally across the settings on the chart if adjusting loft?

    Hi Paul & InTheHole,

Paul - that is correct and my answer previously was slightly off the mark.

Increasing loft does, by its nature, change the face angle slightly. One potential way of counteracting that is to flatten the lie slightly (which usually promotes a slight fade). Therefore to counteract the change in face angle when moving up a loft from A1, try C4.

    Hope this helps.
