  1. I’ve just been fitted for T100 irons, TS3 Driver, TS2 hybrid and U500 4 iron and U510 3 iron and also new vokey wedges which all arrived today. My Question is how long has it taken Titleist users to adjust to new clubs. I’ve gone from AP1 716 game improvement irons to T100 but a 2 degrees flat lie angle, I went to the range today and they feel so different to my old clubs. The driver and hybrids wasn’t so much but the distance difference With the irons was massive as AP1 has much stronger lofts and direction was a bit erratic.

  2. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in one range session.
A round or two of course play will probably give you a better idea of where you are. Can I ask if you were fit at a Titleist fitting centre as you have full bag of Titleist sticks?
  3. Thanks for the reply. I was fitted by Titleist at a fitting event and even though I play off 15 I strike the ball like a 4/5 handicap as handicap was 6 10 years ago and I have plenty of distance and was going to get T100's but he suggested T100 with 2 degree flat lie angle. Grips are thicker and plus 4 and heavier shafts too. Alot to get used too with new clubs.
  4. Richard,
Think you hit the nail on the head - a lot of changes all at the same time. It is perfectly understandable that it will take some time to come to terms with all those changes. Think the key is not to get frustrated. It will come right in the end....

  5. It has been playing on my mind since that bad first range session and decided to go tonight late when quiet and it was just like my old clubs but better, hitting them pure and the feeling of the T100 was amazing and the U500 and U510 were monsters. More going straight than before and much easier to shape shots too. A loss of distance which is understandable as not as strong lofts on them. Hopefully my handicap will fly down over the next year, but def worth having a fitting from Titleist.
  6. Richard,
There you go.... Nice to hear that it has all come right. You sound so much more positive and less stressed!!
Bet you were trying to force it first time round as well...
Now all that's left to do is to enjoy them.

Yea I wanted them to be be perfect first time to make sure sitting was right. But had a gaping session other day and pro said hitting them perfect and better than previous clubs. Haven't been on the course with them yet as want to get used to them and weather isn't good over the next week or so. Must say Tim Baker at Titleist was spot on. Nothing beats new Titleist clubs, they are the clubs I wanted as boy and I looked at with googly eyes in the pro shops.

    Hi Richard,
Happy new clubs, lovely bag set up. I found it strange changing to the 718 mbs when I first got them with regards to "the loss of distance" to the number shown on the bottom of the club but you soon forget about that when you get used to your new gapping distances for your clubs. Can I just ask what shaft options you went for in the U500 4 iron and U510 3 iron? Did you have the same weight in both? I had a fitting event yesterday for wedges and was a fantastic experience

  9. Hi there, thanks and they are stunning clubs, I had a gapping session on Wednesday and lost average of 15 yards per club, which isn’t to bad. But the feeling is so much better than older clubs when hit flush.

I even added the new jet black sta dry cart bag which looks amazing. The U500 4 iron is fitted with a true temper amt tour white s300 steel shaft as I prefer that as a normal iron, but it goes like a rocket and the U510 is project X even flow White hybrid 90 6.0 which is same as the rescue /hybrid TS2 both same weigh and 2 degrees flat all fitted with plus 4 grips with extra layer of tape which makes a huge difference to grip pressure. I must say the U510 should be illegal as I have never seen anything goes so far and run a mile haha. I had 2 of my wedges but the grinds were changed but 1 is delayed until 1st September. All others were delivered within 8 days of ordering. Where did you have your fitting too?

Thank you Richard that is really good to know.
I had it done at a fitting event in Cardiff. I currently have the U510 in a 3 iron and yes it flys like a rocket but was looking at adding the U500 in the 4 iron and was recommended to have the lighter shaft to match the 3 iron I already got however really liked the feel of the heavier 90g shaft so still unsure how to go with it. I have placed the order for my wedges so keeping my fingers crossed they come as quickly as yours did, cant wait to add them to the bag.
  11. I find after using the U510 3 iron that the 4 iron U500 isn’t as good but still a nice hit. A bag of U510’s would be ideal haha. Was it a Titleist fitter or local club fitting? The wedges are a lot better but still waiting for the 54 Degree but due beginning of September. Feels good now that I have everything Titleist in the bag. There have been 2 fitting events lately in Cardiff one at Hensol and 1 at Cardiff golf centre, I was tempted to try a 1 iron U510.
  12. It's a shame you didn't know about the T100s because then you'd still have similar distances on all irons.
  13. I did try them and wanted them before I went there, but Tim recommended the T100 as I have plenty of distance spare and could afford to lose some on my clubs. The same with the driver I’m giving up 20 yards to get more accurate although it is half inch shorter too.
