Champions choice face insert paint flaking

    Just peeled the protective sticker of my new Champions Choice Newport+ 1.5 and the paint has come away? Has anyone else experienced this? For such an expensive bit of kit I was really disappointed with this.

    I absolutely loved this putter, and missed out in 2021, so to experience this has been a huge disappointment.

    I’ve gone back to the shop I purchased and they said they’d contact Titleist UK to see what can be done.

    From your picture it is hard to see what you are concerned about. Is there a small piece of white paint missing? If so, that is an easy touch up. If you are talking about the insert, that is copper and designed to change color like anything else that is copper. it will discolor unevenly at first and eventually darken totally like an old US penny.

    How do you fill in the white bit as mine has some missing also? Thanks

    White enamel craft or model paint. Use mineral spirits on a rag to wipe away extra paint. Several good DIY YouTube videos out there to watch before you do it yourself and maybe practice on the logo of an old iron to make sure you have the hang of it.

    The copper will patina over time and go darker. This can be removed with something like ketchup - I’ve used it on my t22 before to remove the patina but then realised I prefer it darker!
