Just received a sleeve of a new Test ball in the mail. Anybody have any idea what line it is. Thanks
scott asouderton, PA
What ball do you have in your profile? Good chance that's what it is....

Possible 2014 ProV1x???

Scott good point...

It is most likely the one you have on your profile, or it could be a random ball. It seems like they like to have people try out other similar balls and see what they like. Thats why they don't tell you what the balls are! Just enjoy being one of the lucky ones chosen to try out the balls! Tell us what you think of them!
Marilyn Bvenice, FL
My husband and I both received a sleeve of white 'test' balls early November. He received and completed a survey, but I did not then receive a survey to reply my findings. I am curious as to what ball I was using. I currently use a bstone E6 series. The test ball was as good, and possibly gave me more distance off the tee. I would hope to discover the name of the ball I used.

C'ome man....what's the deal? Were these balls (black 1 and "test") an existing ball or something new??
Inquiring minds want to know....plus maybe pay some $$$ for these guys.
Thanks

I'm with you Raymond, will T Let us in on the info? I really liked the ball( maybe a bit softer , please), but distance, spin, were all great in my opinion.
Chris KNorthfield Center, OH
I played 4 rounds with the Test Balls. I like them but need to be a bit softer. I looked at the ones I have and they are allot like the ProV1X. I lost distance but did gain some control. I kept them in the Fairway and they did hold the green real well. For some reason the hard feel on impact was odd but if I can keep the ball in the Fairway with a little loss in distance I like them. Can't wait to try them in warm weather. Each round has been in the 40's.
Evan01Weymouth, MA
Be careful using them in the fall! I lost two on the same day in the leaves at a local course. What a waste!
jarrell rLa Plata, MD
I almost did the same thing but then i decided to hit the balls from 100 yards on the fairway then out the rough. Then I moved back to the 150 and so on and so on.
Don OMadison, WI
Since the ProV's were new for 2013, in keeping with the 2 year time cycle, the NXT/Velocity/DT Solo lines would be up for an updating this cycle.
Michael BBronx, NY
I received a sleeve today. The ball has larger dimples, similar to the NXT I am now using.
Tom FOmaha, NE
I received a sleeve of test balls last week. I have NXT in my profile.-- I've played two rounds with them. My distance was improved so much that my playing partners are accusing me of using an illegal ball! The test balls are black number 1, and the dimple pattern looks like the Velocity ball. Whatever they are I want to order some more. Fairly soft feel , good ball flight and action. How do I find out what they are and where I can get more.

Received some as well. Played 9 on Saturday with one and compared to my ProV1x it was good off the tee but awfully hard around the greens. Prefer the softer Prov1x chipping and putting.
That said I had some shots 150 yds and in that stopped within 3 feet of where they first hit the green. Wonder if it's a ProV1x with a harder outer for durability they are testing? hmmmm I'd gladly sacrifice some durability to have a softer ball to putt with!!

I have PRO V1 in my profile. Two years ago I got TEST balls with a black number. I assume that was the latest generation PRO V1. This year I received TESTballs with a dark red number on them. I assume this is the new NXT Tour. Anyone else get the same?

I got the same thing, 3 balls in white sleeve, no words. Ball says "test" with red #2. Played with it today and its longer than my previous ball. Could be the placebo effect, but it was 10-15 yds longer off of driver and fairway woods.
David SUnionville, MO
I have the Solo in my profile. I just received a sleeve of balls with the dark red number on them, also. Although our season is winding down, I will definitely be giving them a test this weekend.
Steve MBerea, OH
My sleeve of test balls also had red numbers. Compared to the NXT Tour I usually use, these seemed to have a little more spin. I tried them on a cool day last week and they were not as long at first, but once I loosened up seemed longer. Can't say what they might be, but felt like NXT or possibly Velocity. Anyway, it was fun!
Tate SStem, NC
I received a sleeve of yellow titleist and I don't have a ball in my profile that I know of. No numbers on the ball, just yellow, says titleist and test.
agrayrock island, IL
I also received a sleeve and I hope they come out. I was very impressed and would use them for sure. I checked against Prov.dt and nxt and dimple pattern was different.
I really liked what I saw/felt! Had a very nice jump to to it, and seemed to have low spin but nice control around green.
I have been using staff duo for the lower spin and still good pop but this felt as good on the green, seemed to stop better but was very low spin off the tee.
I have always fought a slice, and usually don't get a lot of spin from irons. I did some drills around the green trying to get spin, as well as my regular chipping and putting.
It's tough to judge because you never know how consistent your shots/swings are but:
It stopped quicker greenside. It rolled very smooth and seemed to jump off the putter..it took me awhile to adjust
I played 18 holes with 2 balls on each hole and it was usually longer and straighter. I walked off my approaches from landing mark to ball and it stopped on longer approaches about 2 yards sooner (maybe a touch more), and on shorter ones about 2 to 3 feet. Again I usually don't get a lot of spin on approaches.
I had actually moved away from Titleist balls just play lower spin balls. I like the e6 and duo, but this is a ball I would certainly look at and probably play. I was really pleased with it.
Plan on at least another practice session and round with it before I have to review it.
clayton tdecatur, AL
made my first hole in one today it was 1 of the test ball i played 9 with 1 ball and 9 with pro v1x the red number ball did seem feel softer and go longer
Chris VInver Grove Heights, MN
I recently received a sleeve. I haven't compared dimples, but the balls are white with the word "test" in the alignment marking. Notification was to expect an email with a survey link in two weeks, but I won't have been able to play in that time frame (Minnesota resident), so I hope I can respond after next week's trip to Florida.
A few years ago I got two sleeves with no markings other than a hollow blue circle on one, and a solid blue circle on the other. The difference I could tell is that the hollow blue circle balls were softer. Or so my easily misled mind told me. Oh, and the solid circle balls went 0.25% farther. It was like a miracle.
Charles FWilliamsburg, VA
I received the test balls last week and played 3 rounds with 1 ball till I lost it in leaves. It was great.More distance and confidence
Ric YGlenpool, OK
I've received a sleeve of the white and a sleeve of the yellow balls. I didn't like the white balls at first, they seemed hard as a rock when I first played them. But I completed 54 holes today on a par 3 course and swapped the two balls back and forth. I seemed to hit the white balls further and had more spin on the yellow balls. I could easily incorporate either ball in my game. I know that I love Titleist for giving me the chance to test balls for them. Makes me feel more like a pro than I have any right to.............
DOGLOSKIPORTER, TX
PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THEM AND HOW THEY COMPARE WITH THIS YEARS.
I received some as well...I have the NXT Tour S in my profile, time for a comparison to what's in the bag...
This works out nicely, I have a business trip next week to Tucson and the clubs are going along for a couple of off hours rounds...looks like the test balls will get the desert treatment.

would LOVE to give them a whack or three!

It's been a while since I rec'd my test ball. I rec'd 3 different sleeves (marked square, circle & plain) with quite a different result on the three. Would love to receive more of them to test.

Antonio,
There is a good chance it is the ball listed in your profile, however ... it is a test ball. Any time I have been asked to test a golf ball, I simply compared it to the ball I usually use, that doesn't mean it is the same type of ball. The point of testing is to keep track of how the ball re-acts compared to what you usually use ... if it drives farther, make a note of it ... if it doesn't react as well around the green, make a note of that.
I think part of the reason it is marked simply "test" is so that we don't "KNOW" for sure what type of ball it is, that way we don't have any preconceived ideas as to how the ball will (or is supposed to) perform.
I always enjoyed comparing the two balls as two separate balls. Have fun with the test.
Paul
well i recieved 2 unexpected joys today 1st a couple months back my ap 2 and bag stolen so last few weeks been playing some used clubs from a friend..... after i got home today from playing around i found brand new players bag with 712 ap 2 and 913 d and 913 f seems i got an angel close by..... in mail today test balls from titleist red numbers i am thinking pro v 1x ..... going be 33 tomorrow here im going try one then save one till gets back to 80s later this week

Clayton T- that is really great news. I had the ProV1 test balls last year. Always willing to test a new ball for Titleist (Hint Hint). Have fun guys/gals and remember to record your feedback.

I have used the test balls in 3 rounds and they perform better overall than my current ball that I play. Veery pleased overall, too bad golf season is ending soon.

I have been playing the 3 balls I received and so far it seems like it is a bit harder,...does not grip the green as well when I chip with it....either a PW or a 54.... Good distance....seems to be as long as a Pro V1 and Pro V1x. Good ball overall. I would say it looks like it is some sort of NXT....based on the dimples and softness/hardness of the cover.
Monty mImperial, MO
well you know its cool gift from titleist basicly saying play around on us let us know what you think....... the balls themselves may never go on the market....... but yet again these balls may have never been out and titleist maybe looking for these balls we test being next best thing...... it would be cool to think that i had a hand in new ball with a new style name pro v = next generaion
P.J. EvansColorado Springs, CO
As most of us know, they only do ProV1/V1x every other year. I tested what ended up being this years ProV1's.
Very good ball, but I usually play the ProV1x, so it actually spun more than I liked.
I agree, the dimples are larger than last year's prototype (I kept one untouched). I'm playing 3 rounds in a row, starting on Friday, so I'll have a good idea what they do by then. If I were to guess, I'd speculate they're either NXT or DT Solo. I'll have a better idea by the end of the 3rd round. Doesn't matter what they are, I'm just grateful to have an opportunity to try them out.
Something really cool about being a tester for Titleist - the number one ball maker in golf!
I know I'm supposed to have received an email from Team Titleist, but haven't seen it. If any of the Titleist staffers see this - can it be resent to me?
Thank you!, -- P.J.

I got my sleeve in the mail the other day and immediately took them out to the course...LOVED THEM. The feel was so much better and from 100 yards and in - WOW, much better control around the greens and much softer feel. I have Velocity in my profile but I dont think the test balls I got are anything close to velocity but I love them and would switch in a heartbeat!
I recently had to update my profile with a new email address and was hoping I could also get the email request for feedback resent to me.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to test!
NANOOKHowell, MI
I along with all here received a sleeve of new balls. I would go with the assumption that the sleeve you receive is based on what you use in your preferences. I use the NXT Tour / Tour S optic yellow. What did I receive a sleeve of optic yellow balls marked "Test". My only issue was that these came late int he year for me as weather in MI is hit or miss these days so the day I got out to hit these balls it was b/t 43-46 degrees, a little chilly but not too bad. What I found was about the same amount of control around the greens and on the approach. The difference I found was distance off the tee and with my 3 wood and long irons. I played a 530+ yard par five in three shots. Nuked the drive which set up a mid 3 hybrid shot that I sent onto the green and then just off the the back edge. A lucky 35 foot left to right break putt for a sweet eagle. I followed that up with a birdie on the very next par 4. If this is in fact the next version oft he NXT Tour S, I'm loving it! Thanks for the test balls Titleist!
killerbgolferLacey, WA
Please post your thoughts on them. I've been playing the Pro V1x, but i"m interested in trying the Pro V1. What are your thoughts so far?
Dan HYulee, FL
Would be cool to have the opportunity to test Titleist golf balls. Great program, thanks Team Titleist!!!
Kurt ZWoodville, OH
I received mine in the mail today. They have red numbers similar to the NXT Tour which is in my profile. Excited to be a part of Titleist testing and can't wait to get out and play them.
I have to admit that the Team Titleist program is an awesome thing to be involved with. As a relatively new member, I think it is great that Titleist as a company values our opinions enough to send out prototype products for real world players to test. Let us know how the new prototype (model unknown) feels.
Thomas CSouth Setauket, NY
Received a sleeve and will try them on Monday. Looking forward to the "Test".
i work couple days a week at driving range the range is 400 yards also has 18 practice greens a bunker with 2 greens 1 at 50 yards the other 125 yards gives me chance to hit unlimited balls...... today is was 32 degrees i pick range clean this morning... took the test sleeve and sleeve of each the following nxt tour, pro v1, and pro v1x with weather being in the 30s my test sleeve balls didn't get the loft as the others but 10 yards futher which is cool..... love the spin action i got.... next week warming back up to 70s im going do same test then go play

Just received my sleeve of golf balls. Played a round and they feel similiar to the NXT i currently use soft and great feel.

Been holding on to the sleeve I got a week ago. Been saving them for a tourney I'm in this weekend. Plan on using them just to get in the competitions head. Word is already out that I'm bringing a secret weapon.
Matthew SReynoldsburg,
I just received mine today. I was totally surprised. I had NXT Tour S optic yellow and received the sleeve of optic yellow ones. I was ready to put the clubs away for the season since Central Ohio has gone from Summer to Winter. Now, I think I'll be out to try them tomorrow.
D. FSaint Paul, MN
Got my balls last monday, played them today in Minnesota. I usually play the NXT Tour and found these to actually roll much further on the ground with my drives than the NXT's or Pro-V's I've played in the past. My were black "1" and the word "test" on the side. I liked them but as with happens in MN this time of the year, lost them in the leaves.
David HOntario, NY
Being fairly new to team Titleist, I have yet to participate in any test/demos. Can't wait to try but love reading people's feedback on here. Hopefully this week it gets out of the 40s and I can get out and play a few rounds.
Played 9 holes today with the red number ball. 50 degrees slight wind. Ball had great distance with high ball flight, and straight. Very nice around greens, even chipped one in from 20 yards off the green. Nice soft feel off the putter. Assuming this is the new NXT Tour, I'll be playing it when it comes out.
October 27, 2013 At 08:53 PM
...Ditto. Driver/woods/hybrids were all as long or longer than NXT Tour and Pro V1X. On a par 5 with a dog leg I drove through the fairway. A first. Looked to be mostly on the roll out, but stopped around the green. Pared both par 5s with second shots that kept going and going.(only had time to play 2 balls for 9 holes). If the red number test ball comes to market, I'd be happy to buy it. I've now moved on from the old NXT.
Michael OSarasota, FL
Cover look and feel and appears to be like the Fusablend cover on the NXT line. Also the dimple size is like the current NXT line. So far (1/2 round) performance appears to be similar to this line as well. If the numbers color is consistent then mine would be the NXT tour. If this is so, I can tell some differences from the current line. Fun to guess and have the opportunity to part of R&D side. Just want to be able to give them good feedback regarding feel, distance, trajectory and spin into and around the green.
Daniel BLakeland, FL
I received the "test balls" in the mail. I'm getting too old to use the ProV 1 balls--no clubhead speed. I first dropped to the NXT versions then found that the Velocity works well for me. I could tell no difference in the "test ball" and the Velocity. I do love and have always prefered the trademark "TITLEIST" on my golf balls
Gary S
I was able to use these test balls this week. They feel great and are easy to play. They really sound and hit great. I was able to gain at lease 15 more yards . Please send me more.
seeing how the pro Vs new ones come out 2013 and they clubs every 2 years i say the balls to so i think the red number might be the new nxt tour but they may never been out

used one yesterday played 18 in 48 degree weather they were fantastic. great spin on the greens, and long ,and stright wish i knew what they were i,d buy a couple dozen for next year (only because my sons don,t buy balls or tees)(dad has them)

I received a sleeve last week. After playing three holes my reaction was " Is this ball legal?". I want to know if and when it will be available. I've playng bstone E6s and cally Hex Chromes . I believe the Titleist test balls I received outperforms the socks off of both.

So this is a good point. For any of those that have been testers before, have you ever been given any indication of what ball these eventually went to market as? Would be nice to be able to play the commercial version if they are working for your game.
This may not be practical due to the fact that Titleist may be only testing one element of the ball on the particular test ball that was sent out but still curious.
David GHarrogate, TN
Your right Sherman , Never seen anything come off the club face like that. (never) Been playing 55 years and used every ball made never hit a ball 276 at age 64 (Never).
Hi I'm with you on this. At my fave course , par 5, 565 yds. My third shot was 70 out from back flag location.
