Got my Prototypes in the mail on Thursday and was able to get out and play with them today. Wow! Great feel and the best distance I have had with a ball in a while. I have been playing cally balls for the last two years and after one round with these new balls, I think I have found a new ball for the bag.
The prototype ball had a nice feel off the driver and a solid feel on the putting green. I am a lefty and play a slight fade as my regular ball flight (I'd like to say it is a choice, but it is the consistent result of my regular swing). Today, it felt like I had much more control of the ball flight off the driver. The fade was still there, but I was able to control the depth of the fade much more consistently.
On the green the feel was amazing!! The wedge shots were consistent. When I tried to stop the wedge shots, they checked up as expected. With the putter in my hand, these balls rolled true and had a great feel. I knew as soon as I hit the ball if I left it short or if it had a good chance of going in. Getting to a consistent feel now seems a little easier playing these balls.
Can't wait for the follow-up email to review these balls and find out where I can buy some more.

Just received mine also. looking forward to playing final competitive club rounds with them. Thanks Titleist for allowing me to be one step ahead of the competition!
Hi Doug,
Thanks for the post.
Please note, while these prototype golf balls stamped "Test" are USGA conforming, they have not been submitted to the USGA for listing on the Conforming Ball List. Because they do not appear on the Conforming Ball List, please do not not use these prototypes in any tournament play.
Here is the link to Rule 5 on USGA which also talks about the Condition of Competition rulings for tournaments and the List of Conforming golf balls: http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Rules-on-Clubs-and-Balls/Rule-5-%E2%80%93-The-Golf-Ball/
Thanks again for being part of the test group.

How often are these types of test balls released? I was at my brother-in-law's this weekend, and I'm always wondering why I don't get them... Well, I just discovered my address wasn't in my profile. Is there any way I can still I get some of these?

Received my prototype sleeve yesterday in the mail, so pumped this wonderful company Titleist selected me to test these balls. I received a sleeve with red numbers, assuming these might be prototype 2015 PRO V1X's. I plan to give a full review with playing a couple rounds as well as practicing some approach and chip shots at my practice greens. Thank you so much Titleist for letting me provide feedback that will benefit us amatuers!

I received some red numbers as well. tested them over a couple rounds. I liked the spin better on the Proto balls than the current pro v1x. almost like a pro v1 in regards to feel but a pro v1x in regards to ball flight, distance and spin

How do i get to try out some test balls to give feed back ??

Rich,
It all seems to be random. I started to receive my first text sleeve a few years back, after I joined team Titleist for a while, then I started getting them in the mail. It's awesome to see how a company values their customers and their feedback. I have played so many other companies and haven't received anything from them or any type of group (Team Titleist) to join and talk about nothing but golf.
I also received an email a little while back asking to provide my information (again) if I was interested in providing feedback.
Just keep participating in the forums and keep playing Titleist stuff, and you'll get to join the testing phase soon.

I also just recieved my sleeve of prototype balls; So far they are performing pretty well in comparison to the other titleist lines. I'll save all my comments for the complete review though. Just wanted to send a big Thank You to the TT Staff for keeping me included in the R&D process!

I tried mine today. I can only describe the feel as they come off the clubface of my irons as buttery. So soft and smooth. I'm not done with mine, probably another round yet,but I liked them.

A Pro on Greenville SC gave me Test Pro V 1 yesterday. I love it. Seems longer and still soft with great spin. I'm ready for some when they come out.

First hit with the new prototype was 280 off the tee with about a 1 yd fade with my 3W. Second tee shot was also with my 3W and it went 290! I was very impressed with this ball overall but especially with the distance, control, and feel off the putter. For some reason off the tee the ball felt a little heavier but to me that gave me confidence to just smash it!

In the past, I've had anxiety separation when old versions have been retired. If my prototype is the new 1x, then my only regret is my existing left over stock from this year's loyalty purchase. But whichever I use, it will be a win-win.

I just signed up on Team Titleist. Wondering how everyone was chosen to try to the new prototypes. Highly interested in that.

Hi Carl,
Thanks for the question.
All Team Titleist members are considered when we have opportunities like the recent test panel. We do our best to include as many Team Titleist members as possible but as you can imagine, we can't include everyone in every test panel.
However, we are planning on more opportunities like this in the future for Team Titleist members along with exclusive sweepstakes and other special giveaways... so stay tuned. As for the selection process, it varies depending on the opportunity but most are random selections. Also, the more you participate and the more engaged you are with Team Titleist, from posting in the discussions and adding blog comments to completing your profile, the better your chances are at potentially opening the doors to these Team Titleist rewards. Thanks again for joining.
