You may be onto something. I never tried the 712U. I played with my 910H 24 till I could drop the ball on a beach blanket. In your opinion, can you get that much more out of a 712U? Thanks for bringing that out about the U. I never thought about it. The Hybrid was a real pig until I figured it out. Once I did and got good with it,  I never leave home without it. You have me re thinking now!!!

I'm the same with the hybrids, not my favorite.  I got the 712 U in both 2 and 3, even though I have 3-PW in 714 AP2.   I like the long irons better for getting out of trouble, keeping the ball low when you have to, working it when you have to, and put them in and out depending on conditions, wet, wind, rough, etc.   The 2 will replace the 5wd and the 3 feels a little different and has a different flight than the regular 3 iron of the 714 AP2.    I like them, but I've always preferred long irons to woods, and always hit them better, at on time carrying down to a 1 iron and the only "wood" in the bag was the driver. (sorry I will not call them "metals" no matter how much Johnny Miller does.  Irons aren't made out of iron anymore and we don't change that name.  Say a 3 wood and I know what you mean even though now they are made of metal).  Sorry about that rant.  But give the 712U a try, on a monitor and where you can watch the ball flight and see how it does for your swing.
