My entire bag was fit by Vince Taylor here in the Atlanta area. My golf bag was stolen about a year and a half ago, so prior to ordering all new Titleist products, I spent a couple hours with Vince and came away with all the needed specs to place an order. We did everything from my Cameron putter, to Vokey wedges, AP2’s, 816 hybrid and finally 917 woods. Two weeks ago, Vince fit me for my upcoming TS3 driver. I don’t ever stand above a ball and wonder if my clubs “are right for me”.

If the fitting is available, in my opinion there is no reason to ever buy stock clubs on a rack in a store.

Custom fitted 2 years ago. Being only 5'2" and up in age- it made a huge difference. Never regretted doing it. If you're in the N. Virginia area- Roger at 1757 is the one to see!

Michael, With technology being what it is today in golf equipment it really does not make sense to get fit. I promise you that none of the people that play the game for a living are using something that is not adjusted to their swing! Take a minute to look a bit deeper into all of what can be done for a proper fit and also why. It is really interesting.

I did the Titleist Thursday free fitting last year for my 718 T-MB irons and this fall for my TS3 Driver. Great experience and after doing the fitting, now know that i need 2 degree flat irons which I never had before by buying stock irons off the shelf. Definitely something everyone should do, especially if buying new equipment. In-store prices are the same as special orders in many cases, if you don't get the exotic shaft options. Quite a few have no up-charge.

Besides the fact that nothing that stores carry is suitable to a 68 yo LH golfer, Titleist does everything they can do to encourage a fitting. Titleist Thursdays are done by a trained Titleist fitter and there is no charge. Most pro shops will waive or greatly reduce the price of a fitting with a purchase. Many of the Titleist components are special order, but at no upcharge from the "stock" items at major retailers. There is a negotiated price that retailers have to maintain and many pro shops will be very near (+/-) to that price. Most custom orders are equivalent in price to rack sets. This is not like going to a custom shop and getting a $1200 driver or $500 iron. If you're buying new equipment, the only real cost is the time you commit to get fit.

Custom. Makes no sense to spend the money if they aren’t going to fit your swing.

I was custom fitted this year for my Titleist AP2's and custom fitted last year for my Titleist D3 Driver and H2 hybrids.
Everyone is a little different in their golf swing (speed, swing plane, etc.) If buying a new set of clubs, take the time to get fitted for them. It truly does make a difference. Ask the pros who play for a living why they have custom clubs

Coincidently, the 19th Hole was posted on a GolfWRX list. Starting around 32 minutes, the conversation is billed to be about the TS line, but also goes into club fitting, as well. Better example why than I could come up with.

I absolutely will never buy another club off the rack again. Period.

I've been fitted for my last 3 sets of irons and last 2 drivers. As one of the others above said, I never stand over the ball wondering whether I'm hitting the right clubs, while watching buddies go through all sorts of pain because the clubs they play aren't right for them.

In my opinion it's worth the time and effort to go out of your way to find a good fitter. We don't have anyone in my area that does trackman fittings outdoors, so in some ways I excuse my buddies for not getting fit. But in less than 2 hours drive there is a Titleist fitter.

People argue that your swing changes from day to day. It may some, but your swing belongs to you. Even on a bad day you'll hit enough good shots for a good fitter to dial you in.

Make the appointment, take the day off work and get it done. You won't regret it.

Custom Fitted, I try to go every 2-3 years to see if there is any changes that would require new clubs/shafts lofts, etc etc. It for me is a way to eliminate that part of my game, do my clubs fit my swing.

Makes it easier to blame myself for the bad shot not the clubs.... lol

Everything but my putter is a result of Titleist Thursday fittings. I added AP3’s, 818 H1 and SM6’s last year and TS3 driver and 3 wood this year. All fitted with shafts specific to my game. Best thing for my game in a while.

It really doesn't make financial sense not to get custom fit!
(1) the money is about the same for any decent set as opposed to off the rack.
(2) you will save money because you will lose fewer balls.
(3) you will have more fun.
(4) getting TITLEIST custom fit allow you to tell your buddies how inferior their clubs are when you out driver them or stick it tight to the PIN!

Everything in my bag, from Driver to Putter, is custom fit. Is there another way? And It's not just length and lie, It's also the shaft which is the engine of every golf club.

I love that my irons, driver, and 3 wood are custom fitted, but the rest in the bag are not which I wished they were.

Everytime upgrade my bag, I see either the Titleist Product Specialist/fitter or my buddy who is a Titlist certified fitter in my area for a new fitting. I rely on their recommendations based on their many years experience and the data that they gather from Trackman. They have never failed me. I will be seeing the TPS on November 16th to see Billy to check out the new drivers. Taking my 917d2 with me so we can compare the numbers. See am hitting my current driver in a comfort zone, but who knows, if I can pick up at least ten yards. Our comes the golf debit card.

The only club in my bag that was not purchased following a custom fitting by a certified Titleist fitter is my putter. I've had a putter fitting (twice) but have not bought one following the fitting, just used the findings to guide my purchases.

Get fitted, plain and simple... Having the right shaft for any Titleist club is the key, IMO....

The one I haven't done is a wedge fitting, which is really just not bright on my part. That's next on my list, among fixing 900 swing flaws, hitting more fairways, more greens, being more even tempered on the golf course, to name a few challenges...

Custom fitting is the way to go. Had I purchased my AP3s off the rack, I would have had the wrong shaft for my swing. The cost of the fitting was well worth it. I even got a few great swing tips from my fitter. The clubs were the same price as they would have been off the rack.

The only time I ordered something that wasn't "custom" fit was when it was based on previous stats from another custom fitting on my 915 and again 917, and my previous irons too, and I ordered the same specs that from a previous set. Same as with my new TS2. Ordered it based on my previous specs, and shaft and it worked out great. But I'd never go in for stock off the shelf again
