Is there a dress code for fans at a pga tour event? I will be going to the Farmers Insurance open next week.

Nope. You will see a bit of everything. My advice is dress in layers. One year it was warm and sunny when i left the house in Escondido. The fog rolled in during the tournament and i froze to death.

usually not but most people wear golf attire like a golf polo and khaki shorts or something along those lines

I have attended a PGA tour event. I did not see a notice of a dress code. I would say you would be safe in wearing what you typically wear to play golf. I highly suggest comfortable shoes.

I've always wore my current favorite polo, light pullover and some colorful golf shorts/pants with running shoes...you'll be walking more than you think! If your a golfer then better to use the clothes you spent so much on and look the part on a private course. Have fun and enjoy the sun for us New Englanders stuck in the deep freeze

You can check the tournament website, but I don't think there is one except maybe at the Masters.

Nonslip shoes, tennis shoes, jacket and those rope type backpacks like the Titleist one for swag you'll buy at the event!

Don't try to bring a rope-type backpack. See link below for security guidelines.

Your welcome. I used to be a marshal/hole captain at the Colonial back when I was living in TX. Security changes and cell phones were always a challenge. Always enjoyed the week of volunteering and being inside the ropes.

While I would follow the guidelines for comfortable wear with a collared shirt and either a Titleist cap or Tour Aussie for sun protection, you could wear anything from a Ricky full Sunday orange set to John Daley's American Flag pants. Just not 2 guys without shirts with body paint on the chest with a J and an S.

Can't go wrong with golf attire. Wear either running or golf shoes. Check the weather, make sure to take a pullover and a extra pair of socks.
    Your feet will thank you.
  17. I worked the Sr PGA Championship at Harbor Shores last summer, so I imagine that the "dress code" would be about the same. Nothing specific for spectators. However, anyone found to be wearing inappropriate or offensive attire could be asked to leave the site with no refund. If you would be comfortable wearing it into a 3rd Grade classroom, you'll be fine. Also check for specifics, but at the Sr PGA, ONLY volunteers and workers were allowed any type of backpack, including drawstring bags. (Volunteers were only allowed the PGA provided drawstring bag) Spectators were not allowed ANY type of backpack, and hand carried bags had specific size requirements. I'm sure that will vary between events and courses.
  18. Jason,

I've been to a couple of PGA events and did not see anything about a dress code. My suggestion is to check the weather and dress as needed. I'm sure that the course would prefer that you dress the same as if you were playing ie. no cut off blue jeans. One tip, wear appropriate shoes. I was at the PGA event at Whistling Straits and because the places where the gallery had to walk was so hilly and steep I wore my golf spikes. That sure helped. I can't tell you how many people slipped and fell down the hills. Have fun.

I am pretty sure that one requirement is to wear your finest Titleist hat!
  20. I dress as if I were playing golf. You'll be walking quite a bit so comfortable shoes are important. If there's a chance of rain be sure to be prepared with a jacket, etc. Have fun!

Wear what you want, just don't yell anything out when they tee off(bubba booey). Tacky

If your golf shoes are really comfortable, wear them for extra traction on the course.
  23. Wear shoes as if you were hiking that are comfortable, stable and do not slip easily. Also, I liked another post that suggested layers...very key for this time of the year.

One last tip, take a look at the website for the tournament and look at the prohibited items list....you may be surprised what is on the list if you bring anything such as chairs, etc...

One thing you should always wear is sunscreen...you'll be outside all day.
    Have fun and stay hydrated.
