    I'm not sure what section to place this thread. I just wanted to introduce myself is all.

    I have recently decided to start playing again, not that I ever really played seriously at all in the first place. I haven't even touched a club or thought about golf in the past 8 years. Life happens and other things take priority. I had always enjoyed golfing, was always a good couple hours spent with friends, we rarely kept score and honestly probably broke every rule that exists during our rounds.

    I don't have a lot of free time, at all. (Single father of three) but about 2 months back I was able to go to the local driving range with a friend and really enjoyed it. I thought to myself, I would really like to start, make an effort, give myself a hobby/obsession/something to do when/if I ever do get free time.

    So far I have been fortunate enough to pick up some gear at reasonable prices. I am now the proud owner of a set of 718 AP1's!! I read a lot of good stuff about them...and they are really attractive looking! As far as the rest of my equipment, I've got the rest of the clubs 'on loan' from a buddy but would eventually like to get my own.

    Anyway, just saying hi to everyone. I've been reading through all the boards here, soaking up all I can and this place seems like it has a great group of people here. Can't wait to share my golf journey with everyone.

    Welcome back to the game buddy. Hope you can get some good rounds in this year. As a father of two very young kids, I know how hard it can be to get some free time to spend a bunch of hours on the course. There are a great bunch of guys on here. Good luck man!

    Welcome aboard. Enjoy the AP1's. You might look for a local Titleist Thursday to get a fitting. That should help you as you round out your set, even if you are picking up some second-hand equipment. You will get a good idea of your lie angle and shaft flex needs.

    Welcome! I appreciate the dad part, single with 3, man that sounds like a handful. I have a 5 year old and started lessons so we can play together to squeeze two of my biggest loves together. Push the kiddos into it, as long as it's fun and your no free time will turn to tee time!

    Dale, I looked into the Thursday thing and, unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anything close to me at all. I was able to find a Titleist Demo Day coming up at a course that looks to be fairly close to where my sister lives in Houston. I don't think I will be able to make it though, I'll definitely keep these in mind.

    Joshua, they definitely keep me busy! My daughter (about to be 8) actually seems very interested in playing...so far. I found a children's set of clubs with a stand bag at the local Goodwill, has a driver, 7 iron, some sort of wedge and a putter all for less than $5. She got to play with it for a bit the other day and absolutely loved it. Now she is wanting pink golf balls. My sons don't seem very interested yet (they are 6) and would rather play video games...which I am trying to find things to keep them OFF the video games. We are all going to visit the mini-golf course here this weekend (they have snow-cones!) and everyone seems to be excited for it.
