Learned something new about my treatment that started on Wednesday. Physiotherapy rather than Physical Therapy. Both are similar, but more hands on in the muscular areas around the pain. I feel that I received a much better explanation of the treatment and why and where it pain exists. In the examination found that my left leg was weak, which is the leg that was the reason for the surgery in February. She also noted that I have a lot of weak and tense muscles in my lower body. My core needs work and she gave me a detailed explanation of what needs to be done. For someone who if barely five foot tall she is very strong. She has worked with my wife on her shoulder and knee with positive results. I feel good and hope to feel much better after the next four to six weeks. Will be doing PT three times a week at her office and some exercises a couple of days a week. She did not care for the exercises my former gave to me to do at home. Said to advanced for my issues. One day at a time. No wonder I have lost 15 yards with my irons. No worries, I shall return, in time for our course to reopen this fall/winter. It closed at rating from the Blues: 71.0, slope 128. will reopen at 72.5, slope 131.....thinking it might be more challenging and I am so looking forward to it........

The Ultra Sound found nothing and was referred to a General Surgeon today. My PC physician wanted to make sure that the bulge/lump in my stomach was not a tumor and it was not, whew. In meeting with the surgeon (who is a golfer and plays Titleist) said he felt that is was muscular related to the nerves in the back and spine. They ran a CT scan and awaiting the results. If this is the case he will refer me to a neurosurgeon for more possible back surgery. Well everyone, after all it is 2020 and my course is closed. No worries. I am really excited that they are finding the issue and can resolved. Cheers...... more to follow.

Not only did I change PT doctors, I will be changing neurosurgeons. My gut says it is the right thing to do.

Found out why I have lost my power in my irons. A lot of tight muscles and my left leg is very weak. She has me on good program and hopefully we will be back on my game. She is tough and has me focused.

Chuck has provided so much great advice down through the years on TT and FJ forums. I wonder if that last line "if it ain't working, change it" might apply to my golf game as well!! Best of luck in your recovery

Found out the bulge in my abdominal area is nothing to worry about, but they still do not know exactly what it is. Feel that the PT is working but she said no golf until she releases me, including putting, range time. No worries. Met with nurse and PA at neurosurgeon's office today after PT and they put in order for MRI. They will be contacting me next week for that procedure. The PA feels there might be some hidden issues causing the problems in my hips and the the MRI will reveal that. A good feeling and plenty of time spent in this doctor's office. Like their attitude toward their patients. He said other than the lower pain I am very healthy for my age. I am going nowhere I am FJ and Titleist for life. Should be doing five events this month and next, unless some surgery gets in the way. Let's just hope for the best......appears that I definitely will not be walking 18 holes of golf in the future, but will be able to play golf........

Wow, Chuck, it's been a long road and credit to you for staying dedicated to getting with the correct Dr's and PT and working though it.

Here's hoping you're back on the course sometime soon!

White doing PT this morning with my tech, I asked her if would could expect to be back on the course by Thanksgiving or Christmas and she looked me in the eye and said that Christmas would be very good goal. She also said it would all depend on the MRI that I am having on Saturday and if they do not find any other issues with my back. Let's hope that that light at end of the tunnel is indeed a light and not another oncoming train. At least I know where I stand regarding my PT schedule. Should know more regarding my back sometime next week. No worries, just delays. Cheers.

Am scheduled to see neurosurgeon October 1st for consultation and evaluation of the MRI. Curious to see what our next step will be. Am so ready to move on, whatever the direction may be. Started walking around the neighborhood again this week and belief me the legs are weak and the hips are in pain. PT Dr wants me to start walking more again. She feels we are making progress with balance. Love the massages.

Passed my flexibility test today and can go back to playing golf tomorrow. Yeah, it has been a long and winding road. Will hit the range again tomorrow and then on to my instructor on Wednesday for another refresher. Try to catch up with my senior group wherever they may be. Since the course closed for renovation in February, they are scattered everywhere. No worries, I will head somewhere by myself because I need to play 18 holes. I can always get the senior rates at one of the military installations in the area, with my VA ID card. Our course is scheduled to open sometime prior to Thanksgiving. So anxious to try out the new Seth Raynor design greens. Will be hard for about a year, but still will be a bear to putt. After that time they should soften up. Predicting at least ten strokes harder. EXCITED. It was the third course build in Charleston in 1929 (after Yeamans and the Country Club of Charleston) and the first Municipal course in the state. Back to golf and definitely traveling once COVID lightens up. Cheers and thanks for all the support......TT is the best medicine...... =)

It is actually supposed to be in the low 40s Monday......going to have to bring out the long pants and mid layers for the morning play......Upper 80s tomorrow with winds around 30-40 mph as Zeta skirts thru the upper part of the state......we always say in SC, if you are not happy with our weather stick around it will change.....
  18. Hi Chuck,
