Fellow team fellow TTers! I have recently installed Putting Green in my backyard here in the Northeast New England. It is great fun for myself my wife and my daughter who all play, and it has definitely helped chipping and putting confidence for everyone. My question is anyone who’s done this: what is the maintenance especially in a harsh winter? Should I be buying covers or any kind of protection, the site says it can handle the weather, but just wanted to know from anyone’s experience I appreciate it.

Very well done. If you have put that much into that putting green, I am sure a landscaper can recommend you a worthy cover. I would check with them.

I have one in my backyard, I am in FL, but it has required 0 maintenance aside from using a leafblower to remove whatever leaves and stuff accumulate. My cousin in Mass has a pretty decent size set up in his yard (wish I could attach pics) and while he winters here, he does not cover up the putting surface or bunkers. I think you'll be fine.

You'll be my test. I have been on the fence about it but am leery do to the weird weather we can get in the NE. Keep us posted on what you do. Looks great.

Nice setup. I have one in Washington State and do not have a cover but also don't have the cold weather you have. The only maintenance I do is spray it with a weed killer once a year or so and roll the green to make sure the fibers are laying down.

I have one in my backyard in the Kansas City area. It gets all four seasons on it every year and I don’t have a cover for it. I have the company that installed it come out in the spring and perform the annual maintenance. They bring a tamper (like what you see used around home plate at a baseball stadium) to go over the entire surface and smooth out any imperfections that have been caused by moisture getting into the base. The base of mine is crushed gravel with the artificial turf laid over it. They pull the cups and smooth everything out. I love being able to hit 6 to 10 foot putts in my backyard and grooving that feeling before I play.

  17. Wow! Very nice, now if I could just convince my better half this would be a good idea!
  18. Looks great! I chose to do an indoor setup but after seeing yours I should have done outdoors!!
  19. I have one and when they installed it they said not to cover it up that it can handle the weather. I’m here in Virginia so a mix of snow and heat.
  20. Looks incredible! As a student at uni, i keep to putting on my rug into a coffee cup for now haha
