When I returned, I immediately started playing with the test balls. I have to agree with my good friend from Texas, Ron T. When I hit the ball the first time, I noticed that the ball did travel farther. Teeing it up at my normal position on the tee, the flight was a mid launch but with a lot of pop not only off the driver, but all the way down my metals/woods. Did not get the roll on the green that I was getting from my Prov1 with my chips, as well with my putter. They were coming up short. Whenever I hit into a false front it would stop instead of continuing like my Prov1 would. Not a ball that I would change to, have not been scoring as well with it on the short end. After playing it for a few rounds, went back to my Prov1 and found that I was not getting the results I was use to. The test ball is not for me around the the greens. I do wish that the tests were run in better weather, like June, July, August, September. Guess we cannot control mother nature. Talked to CS yesterday and it was 30 degrees. Go figure. My two cents worth. Thanks for allowing me to participate.

*** Gave a couple of the test balls to a fellow Titleist loyalist and he loved them. Had one of his best rounds of the year. Said his irons were dead on that day.
  2. I’ve been working on my swing so I waited 2 months after receiving the sleeve. My lessons over decided to try them out.

The ball seemed longer off my driver
I felt the spin on the greens was great but not to much
I did not get as much height off my irons but I had a little more distance with each iron. 3-5 yards
Putting I didn’t really notice any diffrence
  3. 1. The distance was comparable to the AVX that I usually play.
    2. I felt I got a bit more spin than with the AVX because the trajectory was a bit higher (which was good for me, I’m a low ball hitter).
    3. Feel around the green was nice, noticed ball would check a little more than with the AVX.
All around good ball. I’m a low handicap player that likes to work the ball.

Look and feel of the AVX Ball. A bit lower ball flight with some added distance. Would definitely play this golf ball. Nice roll on the greens.

I currently play the AVX in the winter and the ProV1X during the warmer months.

This ball was harder than the AVX but the same compression feel as the ProV1X.

The ball performs well off the tee with distance gains about 3-7 yards further than both other balls.

Spin around greens and on approach shots is way less than both of the balls I play.

The prototype ball does have some control factors to it off the tee, but not as good as the AVX.

All in all this isn’t a ball for me.

Didnt really notice a significant difference between this ball and the ProV1x, except it seemed to have a lower ball flight.
  7. The field of the golf ball was a little harder than I’m used to, didn’t quite like the field didn’t respond the way that I thought it would. loss two balls not uncommon for me but I felt that they were harder to hit. I do thank you for the opportunity, but I like the soft feel of the prov1, better.
  8. This ball felt harder which I did not like. I would not change from my current ball, which is a pro V1. Didn’t have that sound that you’re accustomed to when hitting a Titleist ball. Just didn’t have a good soft feel.

I used the white box test balls and really could not tell any substantial improvement nor negative issues. Unfortunately I lost the balls after a few rounds and the weather was not of normal. It was cooler than normal. I enjoy being an avid golfer (100+) rounds a year and a Titleist tester.
  10. I am used to the AVX and found it to be quite similar, which means I liked it! I think a got a few more yards off the tee with the test ball, but not sure I had enough rounds with it to be sure. It felt softer than the prov1's I sometimes use but went just as far. The test balls seemed to be superior for me with short irons; had good feel and with the amount of roll out I was going for on the greens. I will buy these if released as a new model.

I really enjoyed the prototype! Felt a lot like the AVX I normally play! I did pick up a few yards on center hits. The ball sound off my driver was a little louder but the feel and lower ball flight seemed to match my AVX’s! Thank you for allowing me to participate! I would LOVE to do it again!
    Titleist is #1!!
  12. I love the bright white color of the ball. I thought it had good distance but not quite as long for me as my usual AVX. I love the feel of the ball. Soft but I could feel a little firmness down deep when I compressed the ball well. Excellent feel when putting and on short chips around the green. It is a nice ball and should be very popular with most golfers. I enjoyed playing with it. Hope it makes the lineup.
  13. I really liked this ball.
The "TEST" ball had a lower trajectory than the AVX I normally play which probably helped with the added distance I got.
I didn't notice any real difference in spin around the green from the AVX.
The feel off the club was like the PV-1.
The only negative was the durability. I got embedded sand in the ball out of a bunker which took one of the balls out of play.
  14. I noticed slightly more distance and green side control was good. I wonder if this will replace Tour Speed introduced a few years ago but not promoted as much as AVX / PRO V1 lines.

Thanks for inviting me to test a few.
I previously send in my evaluation back in November.
Living on a private course 9 hole course, I had a number of days where I was able to drop balls to compare what I received to the AVX which I had been playing.
The protype had 5-10yds more distance. The spin and check were more enhanced.
I enjoyed playing with it and will continue until I lose the last 2!

  16. I played the balls while still warm early fall. I typically play Prov1x’s after years of Avx use. I liked the ball but the ball didn’t give me the same feel on proper strikes as the Prov1xs. It did have more sound also. I would like to try it more to give it a fairer review. I think it would be a great ball in summer when my swing is still
100%. Depending on ball I would consider it as a backup ball.
  17. I thought the ball felt softer than my ProV1 and travelled farther. Win/Win!!

I loved the feel of the ball when i hit it. although I though the cover was alittle hard

Distance seemed shorter than the AVX i use

went pretty straight so spin was good for me
  19. I received a sleeve of balls. I played with one, gave one to my club professional to play and gave one to a friend who currently plays a TM ball. Interestingly, all three of us found that we lost about 5 to 10 yards in distance off the tee and the ball seemed to spin a bit more than our other balls for iron play. The funny thing was that my professional lost his ball on his 6th hole of play when he hooked his tee shot into the woods. From my perspective, I like the ProV1 better.

I found the ball a little longer than the ball I’d been playing. Trajectory and flight were very good. I liked the way it performed around the green as well. I was very impressed with the ball and would play it if I knew what it was? It’s supposed to be new so how do we find out what it is?
