I track mine out on the range with natural turf conditions. I use my rangefinder to shoot landing points . I use golf balls I find from year to year as range balls are weathered, hit thousands & thousands of times and do not mimic actual playing ball(s) because of it.

I then average 5 days of hitting and go from there. Those days IMO take into account my swing each time, weather conditions. I feel this is a solid baseline for the start of the season.

Never trusted a simulator reading.

The summer here in FL is our slow time and I will take my LM on the course and set up at the 150 yard marker and hit 5 shots. Next hole I may do the same but pace off to my 7 iron (160) or 9 iron (140) and hit another 5.

This gives me a good idea of not only actual yardage but how much difference, if any, there is with the LM.
