    The team couldn’t be more excited about the latest additions to the Titleist Speed Project: the new TS2 and TS3 hybrids. Our engineers’ dedication to developing hybrids for scoring, and not as rescue clubs, is what separates us from the competition. The TS hybrid line delivers on that goal in a big way.

    Somehow hybrids have developed a bit of a stigma with amateurs despite hundreds of hybrids being played across professional tours. And if that caliber of player is willing to swap out their long irons and fairways for added forgiveness and precision, it’s probably wise for everyday golfers to give hybrids a look as well. Between TS Hybrids and the recently released U·500 and U·510 utility irons, there’s an array of options for golfers to add more confidence toward the top end of their bag. 

    TS3 Hybrid Breakdown: The fast-launching TS3 hybrids produce outstanding distance and control for players who hit down on the ball – offering mid launch, precise distance and iron-like control. The compact, square toe shape is designed for players who want more of an iron look.

    TS2 Hybrid Breakdown: The tremendously forgiving TS2 hybrids maximize performance for players who have a sweeping delivery to the ball – delivering high launch and easy distance. The larger profile is designed for players who prefer the look of a fairway metal.

    Hi Allan,

    First, welcome as an administrator to Team Titleist! Just want to check you out as the description of the TS2 and TS3 seem to be misplaced under the opposite headers here. If I remember correctly, the TS3 is for golfers who swing the hybrid like an iron - down and through with a divot - while the TS2 is for golfers who have more of a sweeping action. The funny thing is that, while I definitely am suited for the TS2 due to a sweeping action, I'm not very proficient with higher lofted fairway metals.

    Please correct me if I have the product targets mixed up.

    I have become a big fan of the hybrid as a longer iron replacement over the last few years. Definitely looking forward to trying the TS lineup.

    I spent last week experimenting with the new Hybrids both TS2 and TS3...WoW! They are even better than the prior generation improvements. The TS3 I was very much surprised just how precise it is overall...in prior years it was primarily for players not like myself now it goes so much higher and lands softer which is one reason I chose to substitute my 4 iron for a new TS3!

    One feature I'll be looking for is launch and spin compared to my 818 H2's. The carry distance is in line with my irons, but the roll is further. Only helps when the green is not protected in the front with bunkers or the green is sloped back to front. The distinction in swing pattern between sweeping and hitting down helps clarity the utility. "Better golfer" and "more penetrating flight" were never entirely helpful distinctions.

    I have been playing Titleist hybrids since the 909H iteration. I have played at least one from every series since. Presently, I play a 19* 818H1. I love it. Probably my favorite hybrid ever. However, it has a dent in the crown which showed up within the first couple weeks of ownership last year. No idea where it came from. I was going to send it in per Titleist's direction for an assessment and possible replacement, but frankly, I didn't want to give it up for the two weeks or so it would take. So, I just kept telling myself I would send it next month, then next, and next, then eventually I just resigned myself to the idea that I couldn't go without it for any length of time and would just live with the dent. It certainly did not affect the effectiveness of the club.

    After probably around 200 rounds with it since early last year (I play a lot), I am ready to look at the new TS hybrids. All I can say is, they better be at least as good in my hands as that 818H1 has been, or that dented old hybrid is staying.

    I will of course be fit, but I really like the look of the smaller headed TS3 and am hopeful the numbers are so close with both versions for me that picking either would not be a bad choice. I am a trapper of the ball (I do hit down with my irons), so maybe the TS3 will be better for me. But I can say, the 818H1 with the larger head (similar to the new TS2) was never an issue for me. Always hit it well. One of my most trusted clubs in the bag.

    As a guy who fights the hooks, I've avoided hybrids like the plague. I might try to force one back in the bag though because I figure if I can hit a hybrid, I won't struggle hitting my other clubs left. That, and of the few + index folks I play with, they all play a hybrid and are lethal with it. Hitting a 3 iron with 30-40 yards of rollout isn't doing me any favors on par 5s.

    Never much of a fan of hybrids UNTIL I got hold of my Titleist 816 a few years back. I never liked the fact that hybrids couldn't get you out of trouble, (ex. keeping it under a branch, or hitting a big cut or hook out of trouble as they always wanted to go up into the air). I always hit long irons good and for a million years carried a 1 iron. I actually put the hybrid in the bag to replace a 712U that I was going back and forth with a 5 wood over. Haven't looked back. It's been great both off the tee and turf. I've been so happy with the TS2 Driver and TS2 3wood that I'll give the hybrid a try now when it comes available and if it's like the rest of the TS2 line, it will be the next addition.     That's funny I actually game a 3 & 4 816 hybrid. I think there great so the TS hybrid would have to be unreal for the upgrade.

    The one thing that I like about the 816 hybrid vs the 818 was you could change the loft by a full degree. What is the range on the new TS hybrids. .75 or a full degree. I have an 18* 816 and a 23.5* 818 in my bag. Am very pleased but may have to try out the new ones.

    I am extremely interested in testing the TS hybrid and the Utility side by side for comparison. I have called multiple golf retailers and everyone only seems to have the hybrids in stock. When will the Utility irons be available for demo at local shops? Thank you!

    I just went through my iron and hybrid fitting yesterday. I’m going with TS2 23 and 17 degree hybrids. I was super impressed with these things! They’re kicking my G30 hybrids to the curb! Can’t wait for them to come in and get them out on the course.

    Currently playing a new 818H2 19* and love it.
    I have tested both TS2 and TS3 Hybrids out at TPI...both excellent clubs!!!
    Most likely staying with the 818 for now...I like the muted sound more than the metallic sound of the new TS models.
    Also I'm not looking for distance and the 818's gets me to my number every time...no need to change.

    I appreciate the 816s in my bag because of how easy it is to put the golf ball in the air.
    Look forward to comparing the flight and distance with new TS2/TS3 hybrids at a golf shop soon.

    Still waiting on mine. My T200 irons were just delivered today. I am hoping my TS2 hybrids are trailing right behind and they’ll be here before my next round Friday. Fingers crossed!

    Just got my TS2 19° Hybrid yesterday. I swore off hybrids the last 4 years or so because they are too hook prone. Definitely not the case with the new TS2. I cranked it up 1° and opened the face a little bit resulting in moon-ball fades. Really hope it performs the same on-course so I can start landing feathers on par-5s!

    Tested the TS3 19 degree at a Titleist Thursday event last week. Wow! Was not a big hybrid fan until now. Best hybrid I have ever swung. Decided to go with the Smoke shaft.
