Tried both the V and X; both performed exceptionally well as usual. They felt a little bit firmer and flied slightly lower. Well done.

Right out of the box, wow! The new dimple design was really obvious and looked fantastic! Both the V1 and V1x felt hotter off the driver face, even though I can’t quantify with specific numbers. I also noticed the prototypes had a better feel/sound off the putter face. I’m not sure this is what Titleist was going for, but I felt like I was playing a slightly firmer, faster, ball without sacrificing the trademark performance around the green. A+. Send more please!!

Similarly, the 348 and 388 performance of the driver is consistent, and the distance goes to the 348. Iron and wedges, both the 348 and 388, performed excellently. The 388 gave me a softer feel off the irons and wedges. I prefer the 388 off the wedges from 100 to 80 yards into green - better spin. When taking my putts, both balls performed equally. I liked the responsiveness and feel of both balls off of my putter.

Well being an Older golfer (80) i don’t as we all know hit the ball far or hard but appreciate the chance to test the new balls the 388 worked better for me period. Also the feel was to my liking.I would like to thank titleist for sending them. On another subject I agree or at local golf course last year at a bag drop at local course here in Vegas I lost what I considered the best set for me from three wood to putter and my titleist hole-one metal and team titleist tag on titleist bag. Thank you so much.️

For me the X played close to current version in both distance and feel. But the new ProV is clearly the ball that performs best inside 75 yds or so and on the green. Checks up well with wedges and holds the green. Coming off the putter is smooth, don’t feel as much skid (I play bent greens) and roll great. Clearly great ball to play!

I enjoyed both balls. I had more control and distance with 348. The ball performed great from tee to green.

Played front nine with PV1 x and loved the height off the driver and long irons. Green side spin was over the top good. The PV1 on the back proved to be lower launching on drives but surprisingly, about the same as the X with irons. I would have absolutely no issue making either ball my go to but for my game, I give the edge to the ProV1 X.

After playing 72 holes with the two different protos, I am amazed at the DURABILITY of both models.

I played 45 holes with a 388 (before delivering it to a thorn-covered creekbed) and it didn't have a single mark on it. The 338 is just as durable, too.

Performance continues to impress but durability seems, to me, to have increased with every update over the past several years. The ones ones are the hardiest yet.

Feel on both the 348 and 388 is great / improved. I prefer the X and really noticed the short game spin and control on that model.
Distance and control off a driver or long irons is about the same as prior years, with maybe a slight distance improvement. Consistency is great, one should easily be able to go to the new model when it's released with no concerns

Paired with a new TSR3, these play as expected - premier golf ball on the market.

I've been working through the sleeves at my home in South Carolina and on a trip to Streamsong this week. I passed the balls around the caddies who haven't seen them yet- they all had fun checking out the dimple pattern (...wasn't there a ball a few years ago that looked something like that???)

The first impression is how...soft?..they both feel. The word 'balata' came up more than once...but maybe that's because I cut the 388 with my first wedge shot. I can't say I noticed any distance improvement but the feel is quite unique to a modern ball.

Would like to start by saying thank you so much for letting me be part of the white box testing. I play ProV1 so I started with the black proto today. Little chilly in Ohio today but I feel that the 388 launched in the same window maybe a touch higher off my TSI3. Distance was equal to regular gamer I feel. 388 off mid irons was same carry numbers and definitely checked like a ProV1 does. Green side felt soft and I liked the check it provided like always. Very consistent. Putting felt just like my ball.

I don’t play ProV1x very often but did on the back today. Definitely feels harder to be thru the bag and spins more with any iron or wedge but stays in the air a bit longer of the driver in my opinion.

Loved them both. Very thankful to have received the white box. Hope to be part of future testing someday. Wish them needed me to test a set of T100’s. Hahahaha…

I received the 348 and 388 prototype balls a little over a week ago. I was able to play two rounds with them and I was impressed with both of them. I have been a Pro V1 player for years but I always try the new Pro V1x balls. They are always seem too firm off of the putter and wedges around the green. I was impressed with the 348. It seemed softer off of the putter and didn’t seem to have too much spin off of the driver. The distance off of the tee was great and they performed well in the wind. The spin from the wedges was controllable. I don’t need the extra height on the ball flight but that is the only negative thing I have to say about the 348 balls.

The 388 balls were perfect for me. The piercing trajectory and lower spin made these balls fly for me off over the tee. They had plenty of spin with my wedges and around the green. The feel of these balls with the putter and chipping is perfect for me. I am looking forward to seeing them on the shelves. Nicely done Titleist.

Thanks for including me in the ball trial. Both balls provide superior distance and great spin around the greens. X still feels a little softer to me. As always, the #1 ball in golf!

Just finished playing in one of our areas “hardest day” tournaments and used both of the test balls. I found that the feel, control, spin etc from the 388 proto played just like last years ProV1 to me. I love the ProV1 and hoped that it didn’t change much at all and I don’t think it did. Still the best ball made in my eyes.
Now onto the 348 Proto. This ball in my mind has changed.
While the spin seems to be the same , the flight is lower and more penetrating off the woods while keeping its spin around the greens. Reminds me of the
-Left Dash. This is a good thing.
Thank you Titleist for this opportunity. I love Titleist products and by the workings of these two “proto” balls, it’s easy to see that Titleist continues to create the best products.

I had the chance to play both balls and I am very excited to say I was extremely excited with the feel and overall performance of each ball. I enjoyed the spin the most from 130 in. Great job Titleist you have improved an awesome product again.

Thanks for including me in the Titleist ball testing. I compared both balls to my everyday ball which is a Titleist AVX.. I first tested the 348 prototype. The ball was firmer than the AVX. The ball was about the same distance with my driver, but on five wood and hybrid shots the 348 checked and stopped, whereas t I got more roll with the AVX. On 7 or 8 iron shots the ball checked and stopped - with the AVX I got a little more roll. For 9 iron and wedge shots both balls performed about the same.

I then tested the 388 prototype. The ball has a softer feel than the 348 and was comparable to the AVX. The 388 was longer for me with my driver, getting nice low flight and a good roll. I found the 388 to be a little longer with the 6 and 7 irons. On 9 iron and wedge shots I thought the ball checked and stopped better than the AVX but both had about the same distance.

It was a good day for testing - no wind and the temp was about 62 degrees. After trying both balls I prefer the 388 prototype. Nice soft feel, great distance and stops nicely on the green.

Consistency is still my main focus, which Titleist always delivers for both the ProV1 (388) and ProV1x (348). My putting can attest to that. I loved the durability, as well. I'm still able to gain the drive distance based for my petite frame, age, etc. I have to manage my expectations, so to speak. The soft feel for the ProV1x was very subtle to the previous year's model. I've always loved the soothing sound and maybe noticed a slightly softer one with the ProV1x, negligible at best. I love the flexibility and soft spin that I'm able to gain. I felt more ball control with the ProV1x. I felt the trajectory of the ProV1x was slightly lower than the ProV1s. Looking forward to future testing opportunities.

First off, thank you to Titleist for letting me a part of this program. How great is it that they send their fans cool stuff to try out? As for the golf balls, I've been playing both Pro V and x's for quite some time. Both balls had the characteristic feel as previous generations. For me, what I noticed is less bounce/release on the greens. These balls seem to hit the green and stop with less release than other balls. If the prototypes are what will come out to the public, I think we can expect another round of amazing golf balls.

I am a ProV1 user so I tried the 388 Proto first. The main difference I could feel between my current gamer (2021 ProV1) and the 388 Proto is the softness while putting. I did not notice much difference in distance and launch, but the 388 Proto was noticebly softer when putting.

I tried the 348 Proto for fun. Way too much spin for me lol. I launched everything much higher, but did have a bunch of spin on approach shots into the green.

Super excited to receive my white boxes in the mail. The feel off the putter and wedges were fantastic. It may be in my head but both the ProV1 and ProV1x seemed a little softer and quieter off the face on putts and chips.

As far as long game, I didn't notice a ton of difference but received the same consistency I expect when playing the #1 ball in golf.
