  1. I played 2 rounds with the black/388. Guy has a good feel off the club face. Distance is comparable to the left dash that I usually play, perhaps a bit longer.

    I really like it.

I played it in scattered rain, wet surface, and had flush iron shots with a wet ball off short and mid irons that pitched in the front third of the green and rolled out 60 feet to the back. No other prov1 that I’ve played has done that. Seems to be one shortcoming of the black/388 - distance/spin control when the ball is wet.

Thank you for sending the two sleeves of balls. I enjoyed hitting both but found the ProV1 more to my liking. I thought it was firmer than previous models but also thought it stopped on a dime if hit properly. I normally play the 1X but will switch to the new V1's. Personally, I felt the V! also had a better feel for my game. My distance with both was similar but I think the new V1 traveled further than the older models and I had better ball flight and control off the tee. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to play the new balls.

Hoping we have the opportunity to have the Loyalty Program available in the spring. Looks like I will be getting the 2023 Prov1s. Buy four for the price of three. Please make the offer available this year, Titleist. Just my two cents worth. Will buy them regardless. Stocked up on the left dash, but the Prov1s (388 Protos) are AWESOME. Maybe I can trade in my left dashes? At 76, you are playing with Chucks mind. ha..ha..ha... Hakuna matata.... =)
  4. For me, I find the Pro V1X feels firmer, almost heavier especially with my driver. The Pro V1 had better feel also control for short games around green.

I was lucky to have a birdie with this future 2023 Pro V1 on the signature hole 6 at the Jones, Pinehills Golf Club, MA and broke 90 made the testing memorable! Thank you!
  5. Played the ball today and the softness around the greens reminded of the feel of the old Titleist Professional ball.
    Great action. Another Titleist winner!

  6. To my surprise, I really loved the feel of the 388 proto. Great off the face of my driver and other clubs and performed well around the greens. Spin was good off my clubs as well. Rolled true on putts as well. I would prefer to play this ball.

That said, the 348 proto felt a little “harder” off the face of the driver. With my irons though, the 348 was VERY lively. These had a “bounce” off the face that was very nice. Rolled true on putts also. The thing I really liked about these balls was the ability to make them “check up” a lot faster and sooner than the 388 protos. Being able to one or two hop and stop the ball is critical in my game of getting up and down.

    Great experience with both balls.
  7. Great Feedback from those who have tested thus far, seems like there are common denominators:

    Added Distance ProV1
    Higher Ball Flight ProV1
    Consistancy ProV1 and ProV1x
Softer feel than previous model ProV1x

It will be fun once they are released to try them both.

    Longtime ProV1 fan.

  8. Titleist continues to improve upon the best golf ball made today. The Proto balls I tested felt a bit softer off the driver and I noticed an increase in spin around the green and up to 70 yards out. I felt that there was no loss in distance and overall the ball performed as expected.
  9. These new balls are fantastic, long long long! Up and down from anywhere(including down for an eagle!)
Spin it, control it feel it! My NEW go to balls.

Hi, just wondering whether white boxes have been sent out to testers in the UK yet please?

I tried both models this past week. 9 holes of each.
I felt the 348 model was best for my game. I felt it had a lower ball flight and suited my game better.
The 388 model seems to fly higher and not run out as much.
Both are extremely long and held the line in the windy conditions I played in this week while testing.
I would love to find which model was the 348 & 388 dimple patter
  12. Loved the chance to test the Protos!
    Thanks for the opportunity.
  13. Played the 348 and the 388 against my current gamer TP5. Solid off the tee on both and great distance control and spin.
Preferred the 388 in terms of feel, the 348 felt almost clicky on chips.
Grateful for the opportunity to test these. The 388 might be the one for me.
  14. First, thank you for including me in the Proto 388 and 348 testing program.

I found both balls to deliver more bang off the driver than the previous ProV, so more distance is always good. The 388 appealed more to me.

In terms of feel, the 348 had more appeal with wedges and the putter, but 388 was only slightly less appealing.

The 388 won out for me both with control and consistency. In fact, fired my low round of the year(anything sub 70 for me is a huge success these days).

I'd say that given the high quality and performance characteristics of both balls it obviously comes down to personal preference. For me, I love the 388 and will be playing it in the future. Titleist golf balls have always been at the top, these take that to a higher level.

had a great time testing the 348 and 388 balls. Played 4 rounds with each, the spin and distance on both balls are Great. I really like the 388, best ball I have ever played.
  16. Hi I tested the New ProV1X and I loved it.Great feel distance was about the same. Here in Ohio the temperature that I was playing in was 50 degrees so it was hard to tell much about the ball. Plus I just got a New driver that I am not quite comfortable with .Thanks
  17. Sorry for the delay on feedback I really appreciate the chance to test the 348 and the 388 I like the feel of the 348 off my driver I’ve played Pro V 1X more than any other ball but both balls seem to have little more distance and good side spin control. I had a hole in one from 160 yards with the 388 so I think they are both really awesome balls but I get more distance from left dash Pro VX and works well for me. I recently purchased a TSR3 3 wood, only 1 round on it so far and I think it’s awesome! I really want to do a driver fitting for a TSR, not sure which one to purchase yet with all the shaft and head options.
  18. So living in the northeast playing in 60 degree weather with the 348 and the 388 was fun! Off the tee the 348 was long and great trajectory though the air. Irons the ball felt little softer off irons compared to the 388. Chipping was nice, would say both where reactive on greens. Putting I prefer a soft feel from my putter and ball, the 348 was just that. Just a little softer. I play the prov1 religiously. But know I’m going to be using 348. I think if my swing speed was faster the 388 would be the ball. Both are great to play!
    Thank you Titleist!!
  19. Thank you for this opportunity....I played a round with two balls; my normal cally SuperSoft with the 388 on the front 9, and the 348 on the back 9. I also gave one each to the two people playing with me.
Both had a longer flight than my normal ball, and they both seemed to fly straighter (still had a fade, just not as much, with the 348 lesser still). I liked the feel of both, with the 348 having a softer feel on contact and seemed to check up more on close-in shots.
Thanks again -- I enjoyed trying these!

Thank you for letting me be a test recipient. My conclusion of both balls was that the black # 388 ball seemed to go farther off the tee with the driver then the red # 348 ball. The red # 348 ball seemed to not spin off my iron play as much. I only played 18 holes alternating both balls. The greens had been aerated in prior weeks, so they were not completely healed and really could not give my conclusion to putting with them. I did however have a great round, with everything clicking. I shot 4 under with 26 putts and tied my second best score this year. One caveat was that we rolled the ball, so I have pretty good lies all day.
